Ah... where has the time gone. It seems this pack has been around for quite a few months and I'm still sticking by it! Ain't that a surprise! It's been so long in fact, that my style and skill has changed over the months of working on the graphics. Seriously, go from page one to some of the later pages and see the difference. Art is amazing!
For those who are new to the pack I'll fill you in! I started the pack in September of 2010 and it's still here! I'm a pixel artist so my work is mostly pixelly clean. No noise, all original work(mostly, save for fillers from the awesome Eld), no copy/pastes. Just nice, clean pixelly goodness. Oh, it's also "HD" but don't let that fool you! It simply means it's a higher resolution than the default Minecraft textures(which are very small). This isn't the HD picture you're going to see in your new TV... but Minecraft does come in 3D, oooooooooooooooooo!
Before I post the download links let me tell people how to install it so you don't have any problems.
INSTALLATION!
1) First, patch the client. See, my texture pack doesn't work flawlessly with the Minecraft's lower default resolutions. You'll get graphical bugs here and there. Thankfully, patching the client for higher resolutions is easier than ever! It used to lock your client in a specific resolution, but no longer! Now the mod allows you to switch between any resolutions you desire. Now's a good time to check out some of those awesome lower resolution packs alongside of my own, like Eld's, Wyuki's or Puddle's Tooncraft... Not now though, right now you should patch your client and try out my own, lest you forget. Anyways... get the MCpatcher here:
I will no longer detail the instructions of installing the patcher here. Just read the thread, which has plenty of information for you. I also will not be able to help if you're having issues with it. I did not code it, so I can't really help you. If you have issues with patching your client you'll get more help by posting in its thread, not mines.
2) Okay, now to get the texture pack itself! The download will be in the next section, so download the latest zip. DO NOT UNZIP IT. You need the zip, not the contents. If you'd like, you can save it directly to your .minecraft/texturepacks folder. If you don't know where that is, don't worry I can help you(if you're on Windows...)! In the meantime if you don't know where that is, save it somewhere convenient, like your desktop. Then, either go to your start button and go to 'run' or press your keyboards windows key + r. You'll get a run dialog box. Type in %appdata% and click the OK button. Now find the .minecraft folder. Open it, and you'll see the texturepacks folder, so open that as well. Now you can drag and drop the zip you downloaded earlier into it. There, all done . Just start your client and go in the Texture Packs options and choose DustyCraft.
Q) Help! When I use your pack bricks, gold blocks and THE ENTIRE NETHER has fire and water textures!!! What do I do?
A) Patch your client like I instructed you to do so above! If you don't patch the client, YOU WILL HAVE THESE ISSUES. Please read, it is a waste of my time as well as others who are helpful to have to repeat instructions that have already been written out because someone didn't want to spend a few seconds reading before acting. Though I'm glad to have gotten you so excited to try my pack that you skipped right to installing it!
Q) The compass and watch don't work, the insides are pink!
A) I assure you, they do work... but like the above says you need to patch your client for them to gain their original functionality.
Q) Why doesn't your pack work anymore after I updated Minecraft?
A) It's not my texture pack, but the client. When Minecraft is updated all the code from the mods you have installed disappear since Minecraft gets a new fresh version. All you have to do is repatch your client again after each update.
Q) When I use your pack, some blocks are PINK or INVISIBLE! Did I do something wrong?!
A) Most likely no. This means my pack is outdated. You'll just have to be patient and wait for me to update. In the meantime, if you're able you can fix it up yourself or check the last pages of this thread and hope someone has fixed it for you in the mean time.
Q) I don't like <insert something here>! You should do <insert suggestion here>!
A) That's not a question, but I'll respond regardless, 'cause I love you guys. Art is a fickle thing and what art portrays and invokes can vary from person to person. For this very reason my pack will never make everyone happy. Some people love the colors of the wood, some people hate it and think it's too orange. Someone is going to be unhappy. Now that's not to say I'm not open to critique and opinion, I am! I just have to be realistic for my own, and everyone's sake. That is why I have provided alternatives in the pack. If you don't like something, check that file and maybe you can find an alternative that you can be happy with. Of course, this requires you to be able to edit the files yourself without breaking them, which leads to...
Q) I tried to edit your graphics and now everything is broke! IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!!!
A) If I am somehow linked to the end of the world, I wouldn't be surprised. But I don't think it's because of you editing my pack. It's simple, you used an image editor that doesn't support transparency or something. MSPaint is a major culprit. You have to use something like The GIMP or Photoshop to edit images, or you will mess up the transparency. If you have messed up, redownload the zip and try again with a proper editor.
Q) Stop stealing <insert other pack name here> graphics, or credit them!
A) Wrong. All of my work is original and made by me(unless otherwise stated). If the graphics are in another pack then check their credits for my name or they're the ones not crediting.

THANKS!
I give most of my thanks to the supporters over the months. Even if one person gets some enjoyment out of using my pack I will be content. But I won't object to mass worshiping... I also give thanks to Eld, who allowed me to use his graphics to replace the default ones that I never had the time to get to.
I normally wouldn't ask for donations, but this project has been around for a while and I've clocked hours upon hours working on it, so I'll let you all be the ones to decide if I'm worth of donations.
LEGAL STUFF BECAUSE I HAVE TO!
I no longer allow the free use of any content within this pack, with or without permission. I have allowed the rights to use my graphics in the past but I have since changed my stance on that. If you had once asked for permission and I have allowed it that decision persists, but any further requests(as of March 2012) will be denied.
the gold ore and coal ore are pretty much the same play rs and see for yourself
I've never played RS so I wouldn't tell, but any search I have comes up with 3D stuff... so I don't know how a 3D image can be called the same as a 2D texture...
If you're throwing out accusations, I'd appreciate some images to back them up.
You're gonna want to change the black in the flowers and stuff to purple I think, as it's read as transparency.
Also, there are two types of RS gold, pure gold rocks, and little veins within the rocks.
Aye, I just haven't bothered to save the transparency since I'm not working on the stuff that uses it(as then I gotta open it in Photoshop and make it transparent then save it).
Great job so far I can't wait to see how it turns out. Oh and about the gold I see why you thought it was the same but the two are also very different. Keep up the great work!
I think it's the latter :tongue.gif: There are only so many ways to do the same object... the only thing I see similar are the shapes... and well, they're minerals -- unrefined, so of course the shapes are going to be vaguely similar... and I must emphasize vaguely. Compare them side to side and I can see no reason why you'd think they're in any way the same.
Looking good so far! Can't wait to see it done. You might want to wait until you get a generalized, finished texture pack before posting screenshots. They'll be far more impressive with everything mostly done.

Well I've finished the cobblestone and glass, but I'm kind of stumped with the grass. I'm used to making grass for 3/4("RPG perspective") viewing, which gives you a lot more depth as you can do individual blades of grass. However here since it's pasted on a block you can't really do blades as they'll just be flattened.
Okay I think this'll be it before bed. I took some old grass/dirt graphics I made for an RPG project and used them instead, because... well, I'm lazy! I was going to just use them as placeholders instead of the ugly solids but I think they work decent enough, and grass is a pain in the ass to make.
Sorry for the double post.
Lookin good so far but I can see a tiling problem with the gold block
Oh? What's that? I used my stone block as a template and made sure not to mess with the sides so it should tile fine, though I haven't found any in-game to test it out.

Also, the smoothstone looks great, but it might look a bit strange in-game.
