I love it, but could you possibly make a generic, non-seasonal version?
In my opinion, April or May are the closest to Minecraft's default so those are kind of non-seasonal.
The only thing I think this collection is missing is... winter. The pack's November and December look more like the last half of October to me, January looks like the thaw and mud sometime around March, but the ice and snow of real-world November through February are missing. (Based on north central USA's climate, anyway.)
I've messed around with trying to add some frost and snow to everything, but my very rudimentary graphic arts skills just ain't up to the task so far. All respect to you people skilled at this stuff.
I like changing the month every ingame day at midnight.
I'm having real trouble getting this texture pack to work properly.
For instance, right now I want cherry blossoms in my game, so I've set my texture pack to the February option. However, when I do this, the trees are all green, rather than the advertised pink. It's rather odd, since when I look at the terrain.png file in the February folder, the pink tree graphic is clearly there. Is anyone else experiencing this problem at the moment? Any fixes?
I am having this same problem. To fix them, would using the method for fixing grass (only with the leaf files) work? Awesome texture pack btw.

If he were so inclined, he could carry a Nimitz class supercarrier, but that'd take him two trips. That ranks about an eight on my scale, with Mars being a 9 and the Andromeda galaxy being nearly a 10.
Have you Mac-folk tried following this tutorial? It's just like installing texture packs the old-school way, except you can ignore everything but foliagecolor.png and grasscolor.png in the "misc" folder.
I would like to let you know that all credit goes to the creator(s) of the Quandary Pack as well as the creator(s) of the Painterly Pack, for all that I have done was edit it to my taste.
I wanted to bring Minecraft at its FINEST, and the best texture pack I have found was the Quandary Pack. But I thought it wasn't quite enough. A few modifications and it would be perfect. So, now that I have made those modifications, I can now call it perfect (in my opinion).
I did not want to include seasons, for I wanted THE Quandary Pack. A single, yet ultimate texture pack.
Perhaps I will upload the Best of Quandary Pack all in a separate post (unless otherwise).

-updates mentioned in my forum
Now if you didn't catch the changes in the video or didn't watch my video at all, this is what I changed from the Quandary Pack:
-Surface grass is quandary style and now biome compatible.
-Side grass is of a shorter cut but kept its quandary look by the grass alone, but as for the dirt texture... its default, but it looks more moist than before. (Blends in well when planting crops)
-Plowed land looks more moist as well. On account I gave it a darker midtone as the dirt did.
-Snow Side grass is edited, matches with side grass.
-Ice is more opaque (less-transparent) so it can be more realistic.
-Obsidian is easier to see. It has a lighter midtone.
-Diamond oriented block textures and item sprites have 12 more hue than before, giving it a slight blue tone that I just love.
-Crafting bench is a darker wood color. Along with the small and large chests.
-Sapling texture/sprite is from the Painterly Pack, but the bark was edited into a darker wood color to match the trees as well.
-Red flower is edited from the Quandary Pack. Plant is a darker green.
-Yellow flower is edited from the Painterly Pack. Plant is greener, in a way.
-Fishingrod sprite has a black hook, rather than an orange one. So it could match with the hook that is doing the in-game fishing.
-Minecart with chest is edited because of the darker wood colors mentioned before.
-Bedrock is easier to see.
-Sand is more, well... sand. It has a slight orange tone to match with both deserts and shorelines.
-Added gui menus from Painterly Pack.
-Quandary mobs were replaced with default mobs, for you can't beat the classics.
does anyone else have trouble using this pack with beta? From reading everyone doesnt but I am having a lot of trouble with it. now I just downloaded the zip files and stuck them in the folder. any one have any help thanks

I cant get it to display anything. I go in to my texture pack folder and I have the zip there. I have it selected in my minecraft but when I launch the game it is not displaying that texture pack. When I have tried a few others they are working but this one I cant seem to get to work.

You need to extract all the zips inside the zip file or chose whichever one you want. Don't just put the actual, main zip file in there.
I LOVE this pack.
Although, for some reason the cherry blossom trees are not showing! (February) I was looking forward to having those. :s Is it the game or did I do something wrong? The other tree colors seem to be working.
So now I have uploaded my video to exhibit my personally designed quandary-style armor models. :smile.gif:
Armor model update Video:
@LovelessAshi:
-The leaf texture as well as the grass texture are broken in all the seasons due to Notch's biome update. Every color gets overwritten with a different hue of green. This may not have a solution, and I might not be able to fix it, even with my best effort. This is also one of the reasons why I made my own version of the quandary pack... which is biome compliant rather than seasonal.

Noooooooooooo! D: ; ~; And this was the only pack I could find with cherry blossom trees, too.
Nice work! These are definitely going into my personal Quandary remix pack.
Thanks! I am so glad to hear that. :smile.gif:
I just want to know one thing though,.. how does my "Best of Quandary Texture Pack" look overall? As a 16-bit texture pack, what changes do you recommend to improve its overall quality?
@McK:
The season rotater is most likely broken due to Notch's biome update, or any update for that matter. However I might be able to fix the seasons themselves, but now that I'm back in school, I may not have enough time to do so... so I'll try whatever just so I can bring back the seasons again... when I have time. I just hope its not an impossible task.
P.S: I can't read Java.
