Are my trees and grass supposed to look like this...?
-snip-
If you mean the sort of dulled-out gray color, then yes. It's part of what makes the Quandary Texture Pack a wee bit more realistic, and pleasing to look at.
It would be nice to see a grasscoloralt.png file in the package though :smile.gif:.

Are my trees and grass supposed to look like this...?
Actually, they aren't. I get the same gray color instead of the sort of olive green as well. I think it might have something to do with the texture pack changes in 1.6. They should be gray, but not that gray.

I think you're right. Before 1.6, I would get this gray color if I used MCpatcher, but with vanilla minecraft it was a much more pleasant green.
Unfortunately I think the grass and trees are actually supposed to look like that. It's like part of the biome grass colors or something, take a look:
The area I am currently settled down in looks gray and depressing
But then just a little towards the north east it gets greener and less gray and depressing
Such a shame... I really liked this pack too but I just can't stand the grass and overall atmosphere it's so damn depressing.
Hmm...I guess i should look around a bit more. I just wish ExtraNoise would give us a little more information on what's happening with the pack, it's been complete silence since 1.6 came out.
I guess you're right then...
Oddly enough I get the same color all of the time, while the sidegrass is the original green color, so I'm not really sure what that's about.
I personally love the old winter season colors, so these new biome textures feel too dark to me.
I've noticed that there is nothing for tall grass. I'm not sure whether this will get fixed by anyone who sees this, but it seems pretty important since they are the primary source of seeds now.

If you like my post, give it a thumbs up. Or like. Or +1. Whatever. JUST DO IT.

There is no tall grass because this pack has still not been updated for 1.6. We're all waiting patiently.

And in the meantime while we wait for 1.6, there are two separate temporary packs (on the previous page of posts) that include the default textures for all the new items and blocks.

Yes, it was these depressing colors that made me give up on the original Quandary - it's part of the new Quandary, not a change in 1.6. I switched to Quandary Classic Roots, which has been updated to 1.6. I have some quibbles with it, and the guy's done some screwy thing lately with the Furnace and Workbench interfaces (usable, but why change it? update: he's probably changing back), but he hasn't messed with the grass. Give it a try.
Update: I didn't like some of the changes in the latest Classic Roots, so I made yet another variant, Ancient Roots. Download it directly from here.
I love the Quandary pack, so I fixed the foliage and grass colors, added the map icon and background, trapdoor, tall grass, ferns, and dead shrubs. I've also updated the fishing pole to have one without a string as well (like the default pack), and I've lightened the interior of the cake.

Feel free to download and use it, and consider it under the same license as Quandary. In fact, I'd love it if my changes were rolled into the official release! http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1130852/Quandary 3.5_Kerrick.zip
This is excellent, thank you very much. The grass colours were kinda bumming me out lol.

wync140, may I use some of those screens on the website? They're gorgeous!
Nice!
I should have waited 24 hours to fix 3.4 into 3.5_Kerrick then. :tongue.gif: What did you think of my fixes, at least?
it's so
DIFFERENT now

DIFFERENT
