This is nice.
Here's a few tips:
1. Reverse the shovels so it looks like you're digging rather than whacking.
2. There are separate armor skins :tongue.gif:
3. Read what other people said.

Leaves: Very bad color choice, I wouldn't suggest sticking with that form of green.
Grass: Looks very nice from this angle. I'm guessing you're going for a more foresty feel? It looks nice, but I suggest making the sides run down on the dirt a bit more, maybe 2/3 or so, even if you make the color blend in a bit more with the dirt as you go down. I'm not sure how it would look from a distance or if it creates any ugly patterns.
Dirt: Nice, but I think it's too red, and doesn't go well with the trees. Again, I donno if it creates any patterns.
Trees: Kind of like them, maybe a more darker grey-brown color would work better?
Cobble: Nice, a bit too light, but nice. If you look at how it fits in with the grass you can tell the colors don't work all that great together. It's too smooth and unoriginal , and looks like it kind of floats on top of the grass

-snip-
Flipped shovels don't look more realistic. It just looks like your poking the dirt rather than whacking it. Overall you cant improve the effect my a whole lot, but for my item pack I did them standing up straight instead and it looks a bit better than the default, and allot better than flipped.

I agree with this. More contrast is needed as well, on everything.
Yeah, still changes left on that, I'm going to look at the tree top colour, I'm looking for a green that really sticks out and becomes seperate from the grass at a quick glance but I'll tone down the blue a bit., same reason as to why I have the cobblestone stick out from the grass, since you really have to see it at first glance.
How did you mean with "I donno if it creates any patterns." ?
Oh and with the contrast, I'm not sure how much I want to contrast the environment, I want to keep the environment pretty soft and easy to read compare to the quite sharp items and eventually more contrasted players and npc's. but nothing is set in stone, and I'm still working on it.
OMG. Eld, i am your number one subscriber/fan. I am checking this thread every half an hour, just to see some progress. XD Don't listen to anyone who says bad stuff! I Personally think this pack is better than all of the greatest packs out there combined and multiplied by NINETHOUSAND! Keep up the absolutely amazing work!

hah, don't worry, most people even if it sounds bad have come with some useful feedback, so they're all good people too :smile.gif:
And I'm not going to take some different route as a responce to feedback, so don't worry about that either.
This is amazing. Looking at these I feel I shouldn't even bother making my own items for my pack because I know they'll pale in comparison to these items.

Doesn't really matter, get creative!
edit2: dorino, was thinking that about the diamond too, it's quite green yes, we'll see if it's ever worth fixing that :smile.gif:. I could possibly replace that old item image, but I figured that changes weren't worth it that much.
Also, cobblestone should be a bit darker now, but I'm still working on the best sort of values between all the tiles in the end.
Eld, looks good, but I don't really like the leaves.
The dirt is a bit too red, but the rest seems fine.

This is amazing, especially your items. I like the smooth and shiny look, and the terrain takes me back to the days of SNES RPG's. However, the dirt needs to be a bit darker and the sand should be slightly more pale. Keep up the good work, man.
fireshock, yeah, I'm looking at finetuning the saturation especially on the sand, it will however have a slightly warmer tone than the standard desaturated packs, good feedback though.
Slothix, yeah, PR is not really my area, so my thread-title is probably just confusing and not eye-catching at all. However, while I believe that this pack won't be for everyone, I still hope that those who would enjoy it gets to see this thread.
This is great work so far. It seems like a few people think your terrain needs a lot of tweaking, but I think that overall the preview matches the style of the items quite well.
