However I think the customizer is broken, because I tried to selected the Processed Ore Crates for my gold and diamond blocks, but it gives me something else.
Notch removed the side textures from the ore blocks.
^ Fixed (because I feel the need to intrude on other peoples conversations, and modify them to show everyone how "cool" I am. I mainly do this because my mother never loved me enough as a child)
^ Fixed. Now get back ontopic or I'll be forced to invent a machine that will allow me to give you a swift kick in the **** through the internet
The hypocrisy in your post speaks for itself :wink.gif:
i was wondering if you could give an option in the customizer to have the dark side grass as well, cause i liked it better than the lighter side grass you have now
other than that its a really great pack, and its the only one i use because its so customizable
At the risk of sounding stupid by asking what might be a simple question to what might be an easily solvable problem, here I go anyway.
I've used the Painterly Pack for about... 2 weeks before the update on the 15th, and it's been working (And looking) great. I downloaded the updated version of the pack (and a customized version as well, just for fun) yet all of a sudden, both are making my Minecraft freeze when I run it. I'm setting it up properly (unless the method suddenly changed without my knowing) yet it's not working, merely goes black screen. I haven't changed a single thing, no mods, no nothing. Just the new updated pack.
I'm not great with computers, if something goes wrong, I'll do a search and try to fix it myself if I can. But I'm honestly stumped as to where I should start here, other then deleting my minecraft file and re-downloading it. Any help would be appreciated, and if the answer is already in the topic, just say so and I'll do a more thorough scan of the posts.
Do you insert the pack within minecraft.jar or do you simply put it in the texturepacks folder ?
I've tried using the built in option in Minecraft and also simply going to my .minecraft/texturepacks folder and pasting it. Either way, I still get the black screen.
Never mind, managed to fix it by completely deleting the .minecraft folder and then restarting minecraft.
You know what Painterly needs?
1) An option for pumpkins to be uncarved when you find them, and jack-o-lanterns to be carved like a traditional jack-o-lantern. Kind of like this:
2) Ornate chests in light wood colour.
3) Alternate 8-window door in light wood.
4) Book texture that isn't the original.
5) Plain clothes leather armour, instead of the tux.
6) Better helmet for chainmail, instead of that dinky halo.
7) More paintings.
8) An alternate round 3-creeper moon.
9) A fix for the puke-green sidegrass we have now. Do not want.
10) In-game pics where needed. I'm tired of getting "image unavailable".

As of right now this pack makes up the majority of my customized texture pack >_> Substituted the Slowsand with a toxic sludge looking texture and the GlowStone with one from... Spixel's pack I think? Regardless, I love the majority of the textures. Kind of wished there was more options for the Glowstone - such as an option to make it something other than urine yellow.
One question though: I'm currently using the original Painterly grass color for...well, grass. No matter what I do though, the top appears darker than the rest. I'm assuming this is due to the biome coloring being completely black... any way around this?

painterly pack can't see WildGrass, is it possible to fix this?
In order to see wildgrass, you'll need to manually place the wildgrass textures into terrain.png included with your painterly pack download. This can be done using free image editing software like paint.NET, or GIMP.
Here are both biome compliant and non-biome compliant wildgrass textures. (Copy / paste the top half or bottom half into terrain.png)
Ah, thanks Advize. That lessened it a bit. Still, the top is far more saturated in-game in comparison to the side grass. I thought that was being caused by the game's rendering side effect D:
My goodness, I just tried the "Brinstarium" nether. Goddang that place looks so spooky now. It looks so horribly dark compared to the bright red. I would recommend choosing it if you like your Nether disorienting and the "ice and fire" look.
Going to try some of the alternate Nether choices shortly.

Cant, the game uses the wood plank texture for fence texture.

How To: Disabling Biome Coloured Grass

Now to continue working on my Temple of Spawns!
