Now I want to see what inspired the gleeful ghast retexture - googling the given artist's name isn't too helpful, seeing as it's the actual name of a spectacularly painful condition caused by a particular type of jellyfish sting. But yeah, the new mobs made me laugh (and the Snow Creeper seems just awesome).
Love the high-visibility options, and I'm going to try the "Brinstone" texture right now to see how it looks.
Can someone help we with this?
when i try to extract the painterly pack textures and all, this shows up *I use winrar*

Minecraft is running, close minecraft first. If it isn't open, open taskmanager and make sure the java process is closed.
I used the instructions given in the README of the file... And it screwed up my entire Minecraft.
I had to delete EVERYTHING... Including my saves, screenshots, skins,EVERYTHING.
So thanks a lot.
Wasted my time and ****ed my minecraft worlds up. Would be great if you could give me a detailed walk through on how to install this thing because i really wanted this texture pack but all I did get was a huge screw over.

Nice usage of emphasis.
Instructions are just about as detailed as they can be.
Problem aint with the texture pack.
WINDOWS
1. Close Minecraft.
2. Open minecraft.jar using winrar.
NOTE: On XP this is usually found in: c:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\.minecraft\bin
On Vista/Win7, it's usually in: c:\users\USERNAME\appdata\roaming\.minecraft\bin
3. Unzip the painterly file to anywhere (it won't work if you leave it as a .zip file)
4. Drag and drop all files and directories in the Skin directory into minecraft.jar
NOTE: MAKE SURE you drag the contents of the Skin directory, not the Skin directory itself.
5. Close winrar.
6. Open Minecraft and enjoy a dazzling new world of amazement and wonderment.
When i open it it starts the game so what do I do? (Large letters)
NEVERMIND
Now it says : "Failed to load Main-Class Manifest Attribute"
In a separate window open up the "Skin" folder from the painterly pack.
Copy everything in this folder. Paste it into the window for winrar with all the files.
In a separate window open up the "Skin" folder from the painterly pack regularly and not in winrar.

there, fixed my incredibly simplistic instructions.
Open the skin folder. Do you see all the files in it? Is this the one you extracted from the painterly zip?
Good! Left click your cursor and drag to the bottom. Once EVERYTHING in the skin folder is selected you can move to the next step.
Right click any file and then left click "Copy" this will put these files on your clipboard.
Now, pull up the minecraft.jar in winrar. As a reminder, to do this you must right click minecraft.jar and then select open in winrar. It will show you a WHOLE BUNCH OF FILES very similiar to the ones in the other pack.
Here comes the last step! Click a file in the win rar once. Then press ctrl+v at the same time. This will bring up a NEW WINDOW. Just click ok and you're done! X out of the window and start up minecraft.
Hate to break it to you, MuffinzX, but you didn't need to delete all of that. If anything you might have needed to delete all of your installed mods, if you had any, but not your saves or anything like that. :/
Also, you should take a basic computer course. How old are you?

I followed your instructions exactly and this popped up.

I said to right click the files from the "skin" folder that you extracted from painterly.
PS: Fairly certain there's an easily found guide on how exactly to do this as well.

Call me an idiot all you want im not good with computers.

I swear to god there is no way he's not trolling.
Muffin: Did you remember to close minecraft while doing this?
I didn't think so!
No really, how old are you again?
