I have a couple of suggestions, and a question:
1. If i wanted to contribute, say, a set of alternate tools, how would i do that?
2. It would be nice if the Customizer remembered your custom pack setup.
3. The number of combinations that you can have is frankly crazy (though i like it) -- perhaps a simpler Customizer (with like 1 set of options for all the ores for example) would be a good idea?

What use is an ear that does not hear, or a mouth that does not speak?
Is there any chance of you adding a redstone powder trail, like with Vanilla minecraft? It doesn't make much sense to me that you have this powder and you lay down wire. It could simply be the difference between selecting powder or jewels in the customizer. Also, a stack of ingots (iron/gold) to fit with the vanilla style ingots?
That aside, I absolutely love the pack, and I swear by it. Between better grass and your dark green textures, it makes for wonderful rolling green hills.

Nature should really stop catering to all these furries! I mean, do we REALLY need two kinds of elephant? Puh-leaze.
Ok, for those mystified by a total lack of clear instructions on how to get the water working:
1. Download a pack containing either the MCPATCHER Light or MCPATCHER Dark water
2. Grab the HD Texture Fix program from this thread
3. Install the Texture pack as described
4. Run it, and make sure that only Custom Water and Animated Water is checked off
5. Make sure the texture size is set to 16x16
6. Click "Patch"

Do you (or does he) know when he'll be done? Not that I mean to rush him, he should take as much time as he needs, I'm just curious if I should be checking back on a daily basis or an hourly one.
Guys, don't worry that Painterly's down, Kas is just making the new textures. Sorry for any inconvinience guys.
Yea,i checked about 5-10 hours ago,and it said he's "Just finishing up" the textures, and it will be back "Shortly",I know it's been down for a LONG time, someone's got a messed up idea of a short amount of time.

Jesus, man, screw you. An artist is providing a free service, a "short time" to normal human beings that don't salivate over a video game can turn into a couple of hours. The game is about to get another update to fix some bugs really soon, so you can wait a day or two. Christ.
You guys could just throw together the textures with the new stuff real fast (The ones that don't wanna wait for Kas to finish, not to make any downloads public). All you have to do is add the new blocks/items and desaturate the Grass and Leaf blocks in order for the new biome filters to work correctly.

The way Notch has implemented the tinting for biomes means that the desaturation-with-tint-overlay will make the grass and leaves look worse. The Painterly grass textures are not just different shades of the same green, they're a mix of several different hues of green. This tinting method is a bit limiting, not to mention the consistency issues with the sides of the grass blocks.
I hope Notch comes up with a better solution for this, although it would be interesting to see how texture artists work around it.
I am sad, I was thinking that I needed a halloween type graphics pack to go with the halloween update. The update came and replaced my painterly so I went to see if the updated version was out yet. Unfortunately, it wasn't yet, but also, it had been updated with a bunch of halloween type options that I can't grab till the updates are released.
Well, I guess I could grab the images off of the webpages, but that is way more effort than I'm willing to go through at the moment.
I hope that Kas (and the other texture pack artists) can figure out how to change the default greens for grass and leaves easily.
For the people looking for an ETA, I'd personally be checking back every 1 to 2 days. Art isn't easy, especially when you place each pixel by hand. The new grass system has to be dealt with too. Not to mention the pretty damn awesome customizer.
So, after poking around in the .jar I found the images that control the colors of foliage. Yes, images. Which means that it should be possible to have a good variety of foliage colors to play with. Of course, it makes it a bit of a pain for the customizer, but once Kas sets up a thing to generate the images (I'm assuming he will eventually, if it's not there to start with) it'll be awesome.

Simple solution. Leave the leaves and grass texture saturated and just make the overlay texture transparent. You won't get diff shades anymore but you will have the shade you like.

No duh, I already found and subsequently posted about these 2 images.
when i see mobs that i have no use for (this includes untamable / untamed wolfs and slimes of any size), i kill them with my sword
