You download the files, click save, put it in TEXTURESPACKS. A folder in appdata/roaming/.minecraft. Not in .JAR! You also have to select it in Mods and Texture Packs
People actually use the built in texture pack support? You know it's bugged and doesn't even let you override all textures, right?
Bah... This might have been answered earlier in the post, or maybe I'm just some retard but... For some strange reason when I use "THIS" texture pack... I get the infamous black screen. It's weird, because I do the same thing with other texture packs I use and they work fine. I put it in the texture pack folders... Patch it, and they work fine. I do the same with this and it black screens my minecraft. If anyone can help out here... I would greatly appreciate it. Again, my apologies if it's a "noob" question.
*Edit: SCRATCH ALL OF THAT. I got it to work. Ignore that post. >>

Which textures?
Last I checked, everything in the minecraft.jar\misc folder (foliagecolor.png and grasscolor.png, among others), compass and watch item textures, and a few other textures don't work with the texture pack selector. I haven't checked since Alpha 1.2 though so I don't remember the complete list right now, but I'm sure a forum / google search could tell you.
I love the amount of creativity and selection in this texture pack, or packs i should say. i really love the happy Creeper makes me smile every time it gives me a heart attack in caves. *sssssssssssssssssst BOOM*

The Painterly Pack isn't giving a snow cover. Instead, I'm seeing this. A light green grass color;
Is this because of the biomes? I told the customizer to "Cover all my grass with snow!" and "I want to use the original Painterly snow." and it does this. Playing around with the two settings produces the same results.
Is this a known issue? Also, ignore the "flying" next to the version number. It's a mod.

Yes, it most likely is because of the biomes.
Try using this image as your "grasscolor.png" file instead of the default one, it will take out biome colors
(It would help to know if you're using the in-game texture selector or installing it into minecraft.jar)
i love the painterly pack because of the customization for all the items but just imagine how much more awesome it could be if they could incorporate an in game option to change only specific items so you can have a "china town" and a christmas based town or just mix and match so not every building you make has to have the same door and windows. if the creator of this pack could do that it would far excel it over all texture packs easily
any ideas on when the pack will be up to today's update (not to nag, but I hate the default pack now)
Ikr! I hate default >.< But if I don't use default there are a bunch of blocks that are just blank and that bothers me even more :/ Hope you get it up soon!
Oh wow. Just when I was going to check that last update. At least the cutomizer link still works.
I'm really looking forward to seeing his take on the new blocks.
I just wanted to say, take your time to make the new textures. Don't worry about getting them out quickly, make sure they're up to the standards of the pack and maybe even do alt options.
