I looked around and I think I either missed something or the water/lava animations are not working right, at least for me. All of the water/lava is showing as still water.
This may seem dumb, but how to i get the alternate cobble/mossy stone textures?
Much appreciated.
Hey, um no problem lots of people don't know how to replace textures at first.
Open with an image editing program such as Photoshop, GIMP, or Paint.net and carefully crop out the alternate texture you want and place on top of the old one. Make sure to save changes and place where you have your texture. (Texture packs folder of minecraft.jar)
You can also use this technique to pick and choose from different texture packs. Any problems you can ask me or I think vexx and Koolwitak wouldn't have a problem helping you out if its not too tedious.
When installed with WildGrass, the wild grass is all grey and colorless. Any idea why?
Am using (installed in this order):
- Optimine / Mcregion
- Better Light/Grass
- WildGrass (BL/BG version)
- Mixcraft HD installed with most recent xau installer
I have the same problem. The only mods I use are Better Light/Grass and Wild Grass
My instalation order is different but I have the same result, regular grass is ok, but the wild one is grey:
- Texture pack (in this case Mixcraft)
- Better Light
- Wild Grass
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but wild grass works with other packs I use like Misa's and Eld's (but those are officially supported if I'm not wrong. Not sure about Mixcraft). It sucks since this is my favorite pack.
The Wildgrass problem may or may not be a problem due to the recent update that was not properly fixed. Check the the Wildgrass thread to see if there's any bugfixes, and even if there doesn't, immediately appear to be any, re-download just in case. There MAY also be a problem with your video cards -- the chipset may not be able to support the light softening filters (or whatever BL uses) as well as fully support the purely graphical state of Wildgrass simultaneously... I'm only guessing here, but I hope it shouldn't be too difficult to fix yer problems.

OK, I got to the point where you open up McPatcher, but the "patch" option isn't enabled.
Check the top boxes to make sure they show a filename... if not, change the "output" one (using the "browse" button) to your %appdata%\.minecraft\bin\minecraft.jar (you can just copy and paste that directory straight into the "File" box of the dialog, and it'll automatically find you Minecraft.jar, unless you have it somehow installed into an abnormal location, OR you are using an illegally downloaded version, and it hasn't been installed correctly... if this is the case, the easiest thing to do would just be to actually buy Minecraft and then attempt it. Also remember that this pack cannot be used for the in-browser Beta.

Although... you'll have to make sure that the foliagecolor.png only has shades of green, unless you want reddish leaves :tongue.gif:
I do want reddish leaves. It looks less boring and more realistic. Trees have red leaves sometimes.
Well then, you should absolutely go ahead and grayscale the normal leaves. It may need some brightness/contrast tweaking in order to get it to look right, but I think it'll work quite well... and you may or may not want to leave a slight greenish tinge on the leaves. It might help. I'll give it a go.
Also, if anyone really needs some serious help concerning alternate terrain.png textures and CANNOT do it themselves for whatever reason, please PM me and tell me what alt's you want in place of normal ones, and I'll make you up a custom terrain.png just the way you want it. If you want to attempt it yourself, use a very high zoom level, because if you do it inaccurately, you'll get ugly edges or sections of blocks.
I changed the output file. Nothing works. Just so you know, there's nothing in the "original" and "texture pack" boxes, the box to the left of "texture pack" is checked, the tile size is 16x16, all options below are selected, but none of the buttons on the bottom are enabled.

It's not video card related. Like I said, wild grass works just fine with other packs I use.
It would be funny have a card that can handle games like Team Fortress 2, Assassin's Creed, COD 4, Bad Company 2, etc, but can't deal with a MC mod :smile.gif:
Is there any way to change mob textures back to default after installing the texture pack?
I guess all you have to do is replace the png files inside the "mod" folder with the original ones. I've never did anything like that though, so I'm not sure. It's worth a try in my opinion. One of the things I love in this game is how simple is for you to fix it when you do something wrong.
Nah it doesn't work if i do that and try to play minecraft it starts downloading 1.2_01 beta version removing all my mods, so any other way?
Sorry, nope. The folder is within minecraft.jar, and it's called "mob".

Have you even bothered to read the instructions.txt included in the zipfiles?! READ THEM PEOPLE!!! Koolwitak DOES NOT put random files filled with useful and helpful info just so you can IGNORE THEM. It's no wonder newbs are disliked. So many have no common sense.
If you still can't figure out what you're supposed to do... the "texture pack" option is where you click "browse" and find Mixcraft HD.zip. The original is where the patcher should automatically make a backup. If it doesn't, click browse, and go to your %appdata%\.minecraft\bin folder. Type "minecraftv1.2_01.jar" or a similar name into the filename box and press enter. Then try to patch it.
If there are txt files included, it usually helps to read them in case the mod or texture pack has any special requirements that you need to take care of to get it working.

Did you bother to read the .txt yourself before you wrote all this? Let me quote it for you:
Double click [mcpatcher] to start it
When it opens, just click "Patch"
Close the patcher AND the archive"
Do you see anything in those instructions that say to do that? No. Next time you want to be an asshole, at least know what you're talking about.

OMG guys this is one of the few mediafire downloads that hasn't resulted in the attacking of my computer... oh yeah and the pack is great too :smile.gif:
i have a crappy computer and it really doesn't have too much of an effect on gameplay

Sorry, wrong text file. Maybe you should've read "HOW TO INSTALL.TXT" like everyone else does :tongue.gif:
Koolwitak should probably remove the instructions.txt - it's old, outdated and not very helpful...
And I ALWAYS know what I'm talking about, child. You're also a bit of a hypocrite. You want help, be patient... there's good reason why I'm a little annoyed with people who ask for help without even reading included instructions. I've been working with computers for years, and the biggest pain in the ass is people who don't read whatever instructions are included. If you're not sure about what to do, go looking for every text file you can find. And read them all. They're not usually very long. Buddy, you're the one who has no idea what they're talking about. Sorry for coming across as an asshole, I didn't mean it that way. But seriously. If you can't figure it out, it helps to read every bit of information that is included... you might actually learn something.

Hey, I'd like to replace the custom creeper skin with the original, do anyone know how to do it? I just love the original creeper skin.
But other than that this texture pack looks amazing, and I'll probably not go back to the default look.
You'll have to get it out of an original minecraft.jar (the creeper skin), it'll be in the "mob" folder under the name of "creeper.png". Then just put it inside the "mob" folder in the Mixcraft HD.zip
I don't mean to offend people, but if I seem so, it's most likely that you're just reading it wrong. Or imagining the wrong tone of voice... a lot can be misconstrued when tone of voice cannot be properly imparted to plain text.
You just need to reinstall it
Much appreciated.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience, I've got a lot of stuff going on.
