Okay... so here it is. I can run this texture pack on Windows just fine, I've done it on two different computers. However, when it comes to using it on my Mac... nada, crash. I've done several things including using the new texture patcher. I'm at a loss as to why it crashes my Mac. Any ideas?
Try downloading BOTH the "dmg" file for Mac and the "jar" file for Everyone Else (both work on a mac)
Install first with the dmg, if that crashes the game, uninstall the pack and install with the jar
Hopefully one of those patchers will fix your problem, but if not, describe in detail what you are doing

The clouds don't bother me. The whole game is filled with cubes and blocks. The thing that bothers me is that many times the sky is filled with clouds but it doesn't rain or snow. So until Notch adds weather to the game, I vote for no clouds.
*looks out the window*
Dude, wtf. There's clouds, but no rain or snow. Until God fixes this, I think we shouldn't have clouds IRL.
I think he's complaining that there is no rain or snow EVER, since we do occasionally get rain and snow IRL
I am running Ubuntu 10.10 and I keep getting this error when I try to run after patching:

Dude sure as **** I did get one of those messages advertising sexy pics, lmao.
I was gonna ask you about the lightstone real fast. It seems to give off the most light when compared to burning netherrack, torches, and pumpkins - but the lightstone in your pack looks really distasteful in a house...

I told you so!
As for the lightstone, I do really like how Glimmar made his lightstone to be used as decorative lamps.
Maybe I could try to make the lightstone look more like his (but it should also still look natural in the Nether)

I refuse to call it Netherrack, we all know Notch obviously made a typo and meant to say Netherrock

Okay well then Netherrock, lol. NetherRACK really doesn't make that much sense to me either...
I do like the lantern look quite a bit though. It seems like having them look like anything but a lantern is just a waste of collecting it.
Hopefully this picture illustrates what I mean...I have it in multiple places and it all kinda looks like it really doesn't belong with everything else in the pack:

well lightstone isn't normally used for building, you can have the same light if you place a wooden or cobble stair in front of it, it shines thru :smile.gif:
+ it won't destroy the look
Good tip, I didn't know that. Just tried it and it works.
I still think if he has time though he should revamp it so it looks a bit more aesthetically pleasing...but I will do this for now, thanks.
ok so this was working fine pre beta for me, but now i can install it, but when i patch) it it uninstalls the textures and goes back to the default ones
:/ and like pre beta if i dont patch it theres a few items that are all screwed up ):
I've been trying to get this to work on my mac, but how do I use winRAR? I don't think I have it, or I just can't find it. Could you help me on this subject?

the "win" part of "winRAR" refers, I believe, to "windows". I'm fairly confident that there is not a mac version of it.
There is almost certainly, however, a mac program that can open .rar files. I don't know any, but then, I run windows. *shrug*

It still tells me to use winRAR in the Mac+Linux instructions, so I guess I'll just have to wait for some thing else

Use this http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/19139/ez7z to open winrar files is OSX. I don't like the program though and only use it when absolutely necessary. MacUpdates has practically every utility you could need to add on to your mac, bookmark the site, use google, and never ever get stopped at such a basic spot in an instillation process again.
Also... what are you trying to open that is a .rar file? I just checked, and everything in the mixcraft.zip file is a... well... .zip file. Also, the latest version of the patcher is a .dmg file... so you really don't need the ez7z utility to get this installed, unless I missed something in your post.

PS
This pack rocks my face off. B-)
In the instructions it tells me to open the minecraft.jar with winRAR and put the new files (ie armor/items/textures etc)in the archive. I try to open it with Java, no luck. I've been trying the STUFFIT Expander, but after I put the files in, nothing happens. It still has the default texture.
I tried a simpler method of installing, where you put all of the new files in a folder, then put minecraft in the same folder, and put the folder in the applications. This works fine, but the water doesn't flow for me. It's quite a pain considering my house is surrounded by waterfalls and lakes. I tried to put the patch in the folder (hey, It worked with the textures :tongue.gif:) but once again, it did nothing. I'll try your method, and I thank you if it works.
Hey everyone, I'm back so I'm going to be answering all of your questions now, give me a sec...
(Just so everyone is clear, WinRAR does work for Mac, it's just called RAR but it's the same thing)

When i use the patcher it doesnt give me the option of adding custom water and lava, any my water looks boring :sad.gif: It is animated, but its no how it looks in the pictures. Any ideas why it wont let me add them?

i cant get the halo helmet motion blur to work :sad.gif:
You need to move that "pumpkinblur" into the "misc" folder in "minecraft.jar" after copying everything else

Ok so I don't get any animated lava, water, or fire, even after I tried patching it. Instead, all my netherstone now looks like running water... this is what the nether looks like:
I understand I'm not using your pack in this photo, but I don't get any animation in any of my packs. I'm pretty sure I installed them correctly and patched it correctly, but idk wuts goin on. Can anybody help meh? Btw im on a mac. It might be something im doing or an issue with macs? idk but if i cud just get help for mixcraft that wud be great
