ok so...are you ever going to update so we can install it the normal way?? like seriously. you have it on the old way, which screws alot of stuff up now, so why can you just do what everyone else did and let us put the file into the texture pack folder. its not that i cant do it the old way, its that it messes way to much up when you want to change texture packs, which i do a lot.

Do you even know what youre talking about? Let me explain this as simply as I can...
1) I already have a texture selector pack, as you can see by the "Texture Selector Packs" folder
2) That's NOT the way "everyone else does it" either, all HD packs are better installed the old way
3) The old way doesnt mess anything up, in fact installing it into minecraft.jar fixes many of the
glitches that are caused by installing it into the texture selector, so using the selector sucks.
Please get your facts straight before you try making an argument
Why are HD packs installed better the old way? I don't notice any difference, as everything works fine when using the texture pack selector...
- Fire, water, and lava are not animated
- The compass and watch are both broken
- Netherstone blocks look like blocks of water
- Brick blocks, gold blocks, and pumpkins have glitched textures
Installing it the old way (into minecraft.jar) and installing the patcher fixes these
UNLESS you are using Mixcraft Basic, which is 16x16 instead of 32x32, so it works with the selector
The texture pack option in the game menu WILL let you switch back and forth from pack to pack IF (and only if) you are using the same size packs (32x32 and so forth). BUT....if you, say, install with Xau's patcher, the Mixcraft pack, as well as following Kools directions (fat chance), you will now have lava and water customs as well as anything else he does custom.
You CAN switch to John Smith's through the in game option and it WILL switch textures, but all extras you did if you followed Kools instructions will still be there. Meaning if JS's pack has a different custom lava/water/sheep/whatever, it is....Kools will still show up because you didn't change it manually in the minecraft.jar also.
MC is making it hard on the tex pack makers and users, but if you know this ahead of time, you'll also know what to do to switch.
(I'm sure I'll get corrected...but the amount of time I spend testing supports what I said)

What's that supposed to mean? My instructions are pretty easy to follow

No they wont, if youre using the selector it only takes textures from the pack you selected
Besides, custom water and lava animations don't even work if you're using the texture selector

They WILL be there...I assumed you told them to add your customs to the mincraft.jar. If they did so, only choosing another texture from the in game options will use YOURS until changed again in the jar
Besides, custom water and lava animations don't even work if you're using the texture selector
That's my point...they used what is in the jar file...you tryin to argue?

Oh! You mean they install custom water and lava into the jar and use the selector for the main pack?
That's so pointless! If you're already in the jar then why the hell not just install it that way?
No...I mean the people who think that they can patch once, follow your directions, then just be able to select via in game, any pack they want "cause they patched with Xau's".
If they did so, the customs they added to the jar will remain there until changed right? So if they switch in game...they will be using the jar versions until changed.
meaning people need to realise that it isn't "Kool's" fault....or JS...or mine. The customs need to be replaced by hand and the in game option only changes the textures...nadda else.

Yeah, but all they need to do to fix that is delete the bin folder before using the in-game selector

Just because I have a lot of posts doesn't mean deleting the bin folder is easier for me than others
Yes, I realize I'm more likely to know I have to delete it, but that's why I tell them in my instructions
Either way, the main problem is people think they know how to do everything themselves,
so they never read the instructions or any other text files, and then they have problems
followed the windows instructions twice from the download file and still not working for me :/
edit third time was a charm which I'm grateful for as th is pack is my fav
edit: I noticed pumpkins are messed up for me. That mean i did something wrong or they are that way for everyone? Clock and compass seem to be out of commission too
Great texture pack love how you incorporated some of my favorite features of the texture packs. The directions you provided were easy to follow and were very convenient thx. =)
What about MAC OSX? when i download the .zip of minecraft.net it only gives me the game. i cant use zans mod because of this aswell. Do you know how to get the texture pack for my mac?
Thanks,
Piper
Soooo, I had your texture pack working flawlessly yesterday, but I guess since 1.1_02 it has decided not to work anymore. I tried going through your instructions again, but nothing noticeable happened. I really really really loved your pack when it was working for me, so it'd be great if someone could give me a hand!

Did you install the Texture Selector Pack or the Regular Texture Pack?
The Texture Selector "Mixcraft HD" has a lot of glitches, unlike the Regular "Mixcraft HD"
I know it's much easier to use the in-game selector, but its really better to install it the old way

What the **** do I do now? Minecraft is broken.
You're not really telling me what doesn't work... I can see that your patch is set to 16x16, which doesnt
make any sence, because you should only be using the patch if youre installing the 32x32 pack.

I do know that this texture pack works for Mac, so you shouldn't have any trouble using it

Every time there is a major update, the texture pack will reset to the default textures
In order to get the textures working again, you will need to reinstall it for the textures to work again
I suggest you get good at installing it quickly like me (Drag textures into jar, patch, play)
