No, the old half block looked like bathroom tiles... totally out of place in Minecraft. Although, I do think they should look a bit more like Cobbleston, cuz they are supposed to be made from Cobblestone, and should therefore look similar.

Can't wait Vexx! Youre so helpful, I might as well declare you as my official "tech support"
Yay! Tech support person!
Oh, and by the way, Koolwitak, I think the Lava texture is too sharp... it should be blurrier, because although lava isn't supposed to be transparent, it IS still supposed to be a liquid, right? At the moment, it just looks like some deep-red glowing Netherstone...
Extract the MixCraft zipfile before trying to install the patch with it. The download in the OP contains several MixCraft zipfiles, and several directories, different ones for different applications. There's one for MineCraft Classic (it may or may not work for the In-browser Alpha, not sure), there is the rest for the downloadable Alpha that you have to pay for. For the standard MixCraft HD version of the pack, go to where you extracted the MixCraft HD.zip file, and then follow the pictorial instructions below:
(This step has 4 parts).
Oi think that's a decent tutorial for all of ya!It's done in Windows, but it's basically the same for Windows and Mac/Linux. Also, if you're using any of the alternate animals/GUIs/moon/etc, you'll need to plonk them in the zipfile mentioned in Step 5.
My guess is... you've gotten too used to it already. It's easy to get used to the awesomeness of HD textures (speaking of which, I had a look at a 128x128 TP - it was laggy, but looked freakin' awesome!). You'll REALLY notice it if you uninstall, or it updates and you play without first installing the pack. I uninstalled it to double-check the difference, see what I gotten too used to, and I was horrified at how ugly the default textures looked!

Thanks Vexx! I should probably put that tutorial somewhere in my pack
No problem! As long as newbies bother to look at it, they'll have no troubles. I figured since so many were asking, I should make it nice and easy to understand :biggrin.gif:
Oh, by the way, Koolwitak, you should try to "animate" your water (and lava, too)... if you make a few frames (maybe about 12-16) of a water animation, based on your normal one (I dunno, add a little bit of a "sparkle" to it, maybe?) and plonk them all in a single .png file, from first to last frame, going down vertically (for 16 frames, the whole .png would be 32x512), the patcher can automatically integrate it into the Minecraft animations. You should have one for water (custom_water_still.png) and one for lava (make it glow?) - (custom_lava_still.png). An excellent example is the Sanguine 128x128 texture pack, which makes use of this. I'd show you a video, but it would be far too laggy, sorry (time for me to upgrade mah computa!). I'll give you a link, so you can have a look at how they've done it: viewtopic.php?f=25&t=77265
Yeah, you did it right. If you're referring to a different color scheme between your pics and mine, then the difference is merely a change in biome. Koolwitak took out grass color changes to biomes, but since I love biomes so much, I put it all back in, so my grass may look more vibrant or more dull than yours, depending on the biome.
Every time I try and install this latest version, the v20 one, MC always starts up and goes straight to a blank screen... I love this pack, and I've used every other version flawlessly until the latest one. Ideas?

Are you using the Texture Selector Pack or the Regular Texture Pack?
If you are having trouble, you should read the "Troubleshooting.txt" file in the Regular Texture Packs folder
It will either be right in that folder or in "Mixcraft HD" in the folder called "HD Texture Patcher"
Koolwitak, have you considered that the Beta update will probably break every mod and HD texture pack? Perhaps the release date should be "As soon as Xau updates his patcher after the Beta update."
Hey there, I made a tutorial on installing this pack and I know it's a bit at a bad time given beta coming out, but I was asked to make this tutorial and it would seem like a good idea to post here.

Can the Christmas lights on the trees be manually placed and taken off? I don't want all the trees to have them.
Yes, I included the original pine tree leaves in the terrain.png file, they are dark green and have no lights
You will have to manually open the file with a picture editor, then just copy and paste the non-light ones

Yes, I was a bit worried about this. That is why I'm going to at least wait until the update to see the damage
I'm hoping the worst that will happen is people will just have to uncheck custom water and custom lava

No, download and installing a texture pack does not do anything to your worlds
Also, I included intructions for un-installing the pack if you want to go back to the original
