created a tutorial on installing HD texture packs with mods using windows 7, should work for the majority of other windows OS users as well. :upload in progress:
1080p Tutorial! Go go go!
You'll probably need to view the video on youtube in order to increase the quality; it will more than likely solve your issues. :]
Don't do that! It doesn't hurt to have that option there to those who want it. I don't care if some blocks look ugly at the moment!
I wouldnt care much either if the netherstone wasnt made of water, but I will keep it if you really want
I feel like the water in the nether kind of just kills it... People wouldn't have as many problems installing the pack if you just removed the option of using the texture selector version of mixcraft hd
Either you're using the Regular Texture Packs and you didnt install the HD Texture Patch,
or you're using the Texture Selector Packs and you didnt read the "problems.txt" file
Wait, you meant I had to use that patcher by installing the Hd pack into Minecraft.jar, not texturepack?
That's what happens when you try to use HD packs with the selector, they get glitchy and they look bad
In my opinion, Mixcraft HD should ONLY be installed the old fashioned way
In fact, I might remove it from the Texture Selector Packs list
I didn't use that though, I use the original pack and installed it in a way myself.

Then you probably should have read the "How to Install" text file before trying to install it
You have to put all the textures in Minecraft.jar, and THEN run the texture patch
The texture patch is ONLY for the regular texture packs, NOT for the texture selector packs
I understand that. But what i'm trying to say is I used the regular texture pack, but installed it the Texture and Mods way. What you're trying to tell me is I have to install it the original way, not Texture pack and Mods, amirite?
You know, you have to update your particle.png, that's where the Fishing bobber is, with the pack you don't get a fishing bobber at all. I made a quick fix
You can work on some sorta high def fishing bobber yourself, if you want. Love the pack by the way.

Based on feedback i went ahead and redid my video tutorial and added a ton more detail and in-depth tutorial-ness.
If you dont plan on installing mods with your HD texture pack just dont listen/watch the 2nd part of the video dealing with mods. :]
Also, its probably better if you view it on youtube in 1080p fullscreen; I'm having difficulty recording screen captures with great quality like i do with fraps... :\
This version focuses mostly on fixing all of the problems with the last version
Version 18 Includes:
- Easier and more detailed installation instructions AND uninstallation instructions
- Version 1.1.9 of Xau's HD Texture Patcher
- Fixed watch, compass, and portal textures
- New HD fishing bobber texture
- Slightly darker refined wood
- New gold watch texture
- Less glowy lightstone
- Slightly lighter sand
- Better looking grass
Enjoy!

Now you play minecraft
As long as you installed the textures correctly and ran the patch AFTER, you should be all set

Retired StaffWhy should he have to change his pack to suit those who don't read the instructions?
If it has so many glitches then why should it even be there in the first place?!
I understand what you mean Evilmeow, but I might as well just leave it in there
Besides, I'm sure there are people who don't even ever go to the Nether
I didn't use that though, I use the original pack and installed it in a way myself.

Thanks to a recent patch, I can now fix the watch problem! (They will be working in Version 18)
On that note, I'm sorry I haven't updated in over a week, I've been having some bad knee problems...
Version 18 should be done very soon!
About time! Hurray that update up or
