this is the first Tex Pack I have ever used and i love it.. except for the glass :sad.gif: I have bridges and other structures that are made out of glass and now look kind of silly with those metal looking frames around each glass block. Anyone have a solution to this?
Thanks for the hard work, great pack!
What exactly is wrong with that...? It's just a frame, so it would be fairly simple for you to change it yourself. I could change it if you told me what was wrong with it.
And to Koolwitak, I was wondering why the mine carts and boat (On the items.png) are so defaulty. If you don't plan on working on it, I could work on something that matches the pack more.
Well the old texture for glass was clear to the edge and this one has a thick dark grey border on all the edges so a wall of glass would look like a bunch of cubes of class instead of one large pane of glass. I dont know what program to use or how to do it, do I just erase the color?

You could use GIMP. I use GIMP to do all of my alternate textures.
Gimp is found here.
It's because Koolwitak is using a water animation file from a 128x pack. Kool, would you mind resizing it to proper 32x size for the next version? The old patcher did it, but since the new patcher handles different sizes of textures simultaneously, you'll have to resize it yourself for it to not lag for the guys with slower computers. Also, you can do it yourself - just resize the custom_water_flowing.png from 128xsomething to 32xsomething. Use something like Photoshop, GIMP or Paint.NET, since they handle transparency. I think they should all have an option to keep the aspect ratio or similar, so when you change the 128 to 32, it should change the other as well. If not, use a calculator to divide the second number by 4 and use that. It comes out at about 3400ish, but make sure you calculate it properly.

Just finished some... not very good (I fail at art >.>), but I think that they look better than the current look. Use them or keep what you have.
That'll only change the look in your inventory. If you're looking to change how they appear in the world, there's separate, larger .png files for them in one of the other folders (called boat.png and cart.png I think). The chest texture and furnace texture for the storage and powered minecarts uses the ones from terrain.png.
Ok, so I downloaded the program and edited out the edges to the glass and not you cannot see it at all. so i loaded up the deafult minecraft textures and noticed that there are edges but they are white and a combo of different light blues that make it look very glassy instead of the metal frame look that is in this texture pack. So I guess what I am wanting is pure glassy look without the metal frame (lol, I guess i'm very picky).
Anyways, anybody know of an image of the original glass so I can find those blues, i cant seem to find it in the minecraft folder.

The default texture?
That would be in the minecraft.zip
Ah, thanks :smile.gif:
Now trying to make a boarder that looks fairly natural, thats the challenge as I am a noob to this.
Some suggestions...
Sugar cane is very leafy, especially at the top. So, I think it would improve the look of sugar cane if you added leaves.
The diamond block is... strange.
And lastly, I don't think it's a major problem, but the top of the wheat stalks should be a different color than the stalks.
Hey i love your texture pack but along with the diamond block, could u please change or give alternates to the iron and gold blocks, mainly iron. I just looks wierd to me and would love to see them changed =)
Other than that keep up the good work, hope to see this texture pack get even better =D
Well, we seem to have a bit of an accomplishment on our hands. We are almost more popular than Dokucraft, and we all know how popular THAT is. Even the Yogscast used one of it's alternates. Gerudoku, to be exact.
We will be more popular than Dokucraft in about 12 pages.
I noticed that people around forums are thinking that this is just another pure compilation pack.
The name kind of leads to that conclusion.
I highly doubt anyone is going to think about locking this topic. You can recognize a Painterly compilation because it looks like Painterly Pack or a Doku compilation because it looks like Doku RPG, but my pack doesn't look like any of the other packs on the forum.
I would say I have a very unique style compared to others. Almost every texture in my pack follows the same form as the default textures, but looks much more realistic. The colors of the blocks are saturated to make the game look less dull and more visually pleasing. I use high contrast and smooth lines. I like both simplicity and beauty.
There's no way I can stop when I've already come so far. I love what I'm doing and I get thousands of downloads every day, so I know there are many others who love it too. I have an obligation to all of you to keep going. People love that I'm obsessive enough about this pack to release updates to it within a day of Notch's updates.
My work will never be done until after Minecraft is finished.
I've got problems with the Texture! Here are some problems: Netherrack is now blue.., In Gold Blocks is a little fire,
Pumpkins are not correct, sort of blue blocks in it, water stands still, and many more problems! Could you know what the problem is?
Ever since the new patcher I haven't had the chance to use this texture pack, even if I did everything how your supposed to do it... Why doesn't the patcher work with me?
Try using the patcher on an unmodded jar. Also, if you use Optimine, don't use the rx.class from that mod. Just about any other mod should work though, as long as you install them AFTER you patch Minecraft.

He just means that some people don't consider it, even if its suggested. I imagine about 20% of users would automatically think "oh, it's just another crappy compilation pack" whenever someone mentions it. Even so, I like the current name, although it may benefit you somewhat to change it.
Ok, with HD (installed otherwise correctly), some grass blocks look like an entire block of grass, some are normal (grass on top). This is also the case with grass that has snow on it (some look like a snow block). Is this meant to be the case or what?

No, it shouldn't look like that. Do you have the mod "BetterGrass" installed?
That's a result of BetterGrass being incorporated into the most recent HD patcher. If you don't like the effect, you can patch again and choose to turn it off. Personally, I think BetterGrass makes the game look better.
I have downloaded this pack and use the low resolution because my comps slow and i cant get mc patcher because i have mods installed already. I really like this pack and Its really cool but I'd like to see somthing with the clock compass and wolves. I am not sure if you have already done this for the HD one and if you have could you please integrate it
Thanks great pack I think the and look great
