You can download the same pack, it may or may not work, I'm not sure when Notch changed the redstone textures... Other than that, it should be fine. If your mods use the same files as the patcher, there's a good chance it won't patch properly anyway.
I have a question.
Do i download the same texture pack or do i have to download an older version of a texture pack. Also when i Patch minecraft does that affect my mods?
Thanks
I'd say it shouldn't hurt anything, but I could be wrong. Just back up your entire Minecraft folder while you try things out.

Im using Single Player Commands, do you think that will effect it?
Thanks for the reply
Maybe people should start telling me about textures they think need to be fixed/updated/redone.
Here are the few alterations/swaps with other randomly found textures I've put together:
First off I'd like to say I love your pack, and have used it since I started playing a couple months ago, I really can't play without it. If I were to be overtly critical, I'd say make changes to steel sword (weird hilt and points coming out of the side), forge (too plain), diamond block (kinda cool though, I'm getting used to it), torch (too plain), and rain particles (the splash is too big).
*sigh* Thanks, Mikegeitz. XD Now i'm gonna look like i'm copying you.
First off, i've never posted in this topic before (i'm mostly a lurker), but Koolwitak, your texture pack is BY FAR my favorite, and thank you for all the work you've done. Every once in a while, i'll be forced to play vanilla for a bit (I don't have many SSP mods, just... a LOT of server mods via craftbukkit), and i'm amazed how anyone can put up with it.
Anyways, I, like Mikegeitz above me, constantly tweak anything I can, particularly graphics, and in this case, I edited the terrain.png:
A few things about that I just want to explain: The grass and snow sides makes terrains look more full. I like the deeper blue of the water and the lava looks cool (the weird lava one is the flowing state). I pulled a few things from other texture packs, such as the water and lava, the breaking animation, the ladder, and the leaves (god i love those leaves). All the other changes I made myself, either drawing them by hand (like the red flower, the diamond block - looks better as walls - and the glass - I hate borders XD), or by editing (such as all the wood items, the bed, the minecart tracks, and mossy cobblestone).
MOST of all of what I just said is pointless... *shrug* My actual question is this: before this recent update, the terrain.png for your texture pack was installed directly into the minecraft.jar file, and to change it to my tastes, I just replaced (or edited) that file. In this recent update, you keep it all in a .zip file in the texturepacks folder. So, I tried unzipping it, replacing the terrain.png in THERE, and rezipping it... aaaand nothing at all works (meaning the textures are all vanilla - no crash or anything). Any help and/or repremanding for changing your stuff? (I can take it.) :tongue.gif:
EDIT: *sigh* Problem solved, stupid simple thing I forgot about. Damn macs.

Hey maybe make the stone sword look different? I really thought that it was an iron sword so I was really weirded out because I thought I had a multitude of iron swords lol. I like the fantasy look of the iron sword but maybe change it a bit to make a bit more fine in shape or darken the stone swords and differentiate the handle from the blade. Besides that, I think the other textures are pretty awesome.
I Love this Texture Pack! But now the bricks and gold blocks are mest up and the watch and compass don't work.
And it doesnt go with some mods (planes mod for me) You think you could fix this in the next update? Thanks!
It's not a problem with the texture pack - it's a problem with your installation. Either a mod conflict or improper install, but it's not something Koolwitak can fix for you.

Hey, I just thought I'd post this, see if anyone likes it (and if so, feel free to use it). I took the items.png file and edited a few things, mostly hand drawn by me (aside from the alternate texture of the bed, of course).
EDIT: Fixed small problems with pickaxe and wood axe.
I made the wooden "sword" a bat, cause it makes more sense, took the fancy hilt off the stone sword so it's more basic, narrowed the hilt on the iron sword just cause I like it that way, and gave the diamond "sword" a hilt to match. :biggrin.gif: Then I went and made all the gold tools much more decorative... cause that's totally the only thing they're good for. I took the awesomeness on the hilt of the sword that koolwitak drew and integrated it into the other tools, as well as putting that red gem practically EVERYWHERE (I put the gem on the armor both in the items.png, and in the actual armor folder). I wanted to make the diamond armor into decorative jedi robes or something, but I'm not nearly good enough of an artist, so... blah.
Also, Koolwitak, I apologize in advance if sharing these happens to **** you off, and if you ask me to, i'll immediately go back and edit out the images. I don't mean to usurp your skills in making the texture pack, these are just a few small changes I personally prefer. Keep up the awesome work - can't play without it.

Nice :biggrin.gif:
I think the wooden sword should be more club-like, perhaps a spiked mace of some sort. Your additions to the gold tools look pretty good, although their edges are too sharp, perhaps they need softer edges. Also, similar suggestion to the stone sword; perhaps a spiked mace... or else, a wooden bat, then a stone mace with a spiked head...
Thanks for the fix to pickaxe and wood axe - the black edges were a nuisance (I've been too lazy to fix them recently xD)
For those who want to know, Version 31 will be released on friday. If everything goes as planned, it should have a new "grasscolor.png" file, a completed HD "slot.png" file, and some updates to the "items.png" file.
Many of the updates to the items will be thanks to the contributions made by Maoman123!
HELP!!! MY MINECRAFT BROKE!!
well heres what i did. i took the file i was supposed to download, downaoded it, and copied it into the minecraft texture pack folder thats on minecraft and then my items got deleted and when i try to make something in a crafting bench, the game freezes and shuts down. yeah, i know i messed up but i just want to play at this point haha
I've been having trouble with some sort of texture/light/rendering problem that I did not experience before installing this texture pack. There are times when certain blocks will be completely black, most notably is the middle step in stairs. Would anyone know a way to fix this problem?
I think I am patching my game corrctly, but apparently in 'Mods and Texture Packs', Default is the only pack that shows.
Is there any way I can get Mixcraft to show?

Change your Smooth Lighting option. That should fix it.
It's a glitch in MC itself, unrelated to the texture pack.
