Ok so some questions O.O I got on yesterdaqy and the texture pack was fine. I got on today selected mixcraft and all hell broke loose. My fire never changed before to your version but the default. When i got on today it had changed to yours but wouldnt animate and my netherrack was flowing water (solid) and brick copntained portals and fire animations on them. What happend?? O.O i didnt do anything wrong did i?
It looks like this new patcher is going to take some getting used to... We've got more people posting issues with the pack than we've had in a long time! The new interface seems to be causing a lot of confusion.
I just want to remind people to please READ THE FAQ on the first page before asking questions!
I will provide more detailed instructions on what all the settings should be in the new patcher when I release the next version, but until then you just have to use this topic if you need help ---> viewtopic.php?f=1021&t=252531
You need to understand that this patcher works much differently from the other patcher. With this one, you only need to patch your game ONCE and then you should be able to switch between ANY texture pack from the main menu.
I tried to use the new patcher, but it still doesn't work.
Once, when I patched, I checked the logs, and it stopped the patch for some reason. I cant reacquire the code, because it only happened once and i have closed out of the patcher.
Edit:
Below the compact staircases, what er those two blocks?
Just got the latest version - great work. One issue though - the snow 'surface' texture doesn't match the 'snow side grass' texture at all. It has a different pattern and a different hue - looks quite jarring.
Koolwitak, You've given specific credit to me at the bottom of your OP for using my cactus and lily pad textures after I PM'd you, which I appreciate, but you haven't yet asked or received permission nor given me credit for my latest grasscolor.png biome triangle...a direct copy of mine, but simply lightened:
Making a 'heading' of it too in your thread as 'New Biomes' without asking permission or properly crediting me for my original work is a little unfair according to the forum rules! Anyone reading my forum thread will understand how much work I put into getting those right.
My grasscolor.png file you are using was first uploaded by me on my thread over a month ago if there's any question over provenance: viewtopic.php?f=1021&t=48884&start=4020
I would appreciate you giving credit where it is due, mate, thanks and please ask next time! :smile.gif:
Glimmar.

oh, you guys, you notice how so many tpacks portray soul sand as filled with skull heads?
Many may not know, but this is inaccurate, as the Minecraft Wiki states that they were of resemblance to creeper faces.
Anyone like my new avatar, or do they prefer the cookie?

...and that amazes me, because the new patcher is simpler and more intuitive. If you've got a fresh install of Minecraft, you just click one button: "Patch".
I'd daresay it's idiot-proof but you know what happens there - they build a better idiot. If only people would spend a minute looking at the readme or installation instructions, they'd spare themselves the need to spend that minute writing a post asking the same question that's already been asked (and answered) several times in just about every texture pack thread.
Until someone makes a patcher that will work even for people who can't be arsed to read, I fear we're howling into the wind. :sad.gif:

What are the items circled in red? a lilly pad in there? Im so confused but i would love to have the bushy flowers and the long grass in my game. Im just confused what it is.
Ah man won't let me upload attachments. But if you know what i am talking about in the Terrain file. please help! :biggrin.gif:

Those are optional textures for the WildGrass mod, which has yet to be updated for 1.5. You don't need them otherwise.

EDIT Figured it out, Download the alternate textures file then replace the clouds.png from the original mixcraft with the alternate one. Hope that makes sense..
but you haven't yet asked or received permission nor given me credit for my latest grasscolor.png biome triangle...a direct copy of mine, but simply lightened
Ahh I see, that's where it came from!
I downloaded almost 40 different texture packs looking for a good grass biome base and by the time I had finally narrowed it down to only 5 biomes, they were all renamed to things like "bio1dark" and "bio2smooth" Actually I think did the same thing with the pine sapling... I'm not really sure where that came from either...
But don't worry about the grass biomes, I've already started working on a custom one. That one was simply a placeholder to be used in Version 30 since I have never had to use any grass biomes before this version. (The same goes for the pine sapling, for whoever made it. That's just a placeholder as well.)
Sorry about that Glimmar! I will get Version 31 out soon and it won't be a problem anymore.

It just annoys me to see people steeling artwork from other people and then publishing it as there own and then getting the credit for it.
Well I never said it was MY texture in the first place. As stated above, it was a placeholder ONLY for Version 30.

How can i remove the clouds from the 32bit pack??
EDIT Figured it out, Download the alternate textures file then replace the clouds.png from the original mixcraft with the alternate one. Hope that makes sense...
Don't worry, I plan on removing clouds for the next version. Rain doesn't even come out of them!
NOEZ! Please don't remove clouds, Kool. If you look carefully, you'll see that when it rains, the clouds ARE darker than the sky. The light bits are the clear sky :tongue.gif:
At least have a shot at making a double or triple-res clouds.png and see how it looks :biggrin.gif:
I'm having problem with the new patcher, as far as I can tell I'm following the instruction correctly but I keep ending up with the default textures.
I un zipped the Mixcraft v30 Pack then I un zipped the Mixcraft HD file and copyed in some alternate textures then re zipped it and moved it to the texturepacks folder and then ran the mcpatcher with the only result being that Mixcraft apiers in the ingame texturepack menu but no textures are applied. Could some one tell me where I've gone wrong :smile.gif:
(Edit) managed to get it working but only with out the alternate textures
I had the same issue (patched without a hitch, but selecting the pack in game didn't do anything). I realized that I had rezipped one folder too high in the file chain. When you unzip to make changes, it creates a nonzipped folder called 'Mixcraft HD'. When you rezip, you need to do so on the files and folders WITHIN the 'Mixcraft HD' folder, rather than on the folder as a whole. If the icon for in-game texture selection is a greyscale version of the icon for default textures, this might be your problem.

This appears to be the most common problem in all texture packs from what i see in the patcher thread. Kool, would you mind adding something like this to your FAQ?
Just a little question: Now I know this might have been posted here before but I just don't have time to filter the trash and tldr-like posts.
I remember reading "Use the patcher because it looks more realistic than just loading the text pack from the game" or something like that.
Now why should we load the texture pack via the game ? Or perhaps did I do something wrong ?!

I appreciate the apology and the credit, mate, and understand how easily things get confusing as to were they come from, but the fact remains you used something without establishing the provenance or first asking permission and made a feature of your pack version 30 as 'New Biomes' not knowing where that featured component came from...that was the issue. Until I reminded you of where your 'new' biome texture came from, you hadn't even mentioned it was a 'placeholder'.
As I've made clear before, I don't mind any of my textures being used on these forums for personal use, that's what they're there for, but if they are used in a pack that is subsequently re-offered for download, then as the forum rules make it clear, I would expect to be asked first and properly credited for the original work.
