Here is the updated terrain file, with the new saplings and the boosters. I'm posting this so that people who know how to can replace the terrain file as soon as Beta 1.5 is released, instead waiting for me to update the pack.
When I go to 'Mods and Texture Packs' and then select 'Open Texture Pack Folder', nothing happens. So I can't select anything. Is that a known bug?
That's not how you install the pack. When you go to "Mods and Texture Packs" it should be on DEFAULT.
Install the pack using the patcher included in the download, then set the texture pack to the default one.
I know how to download it, but for some reason, default is the, well.. default pack. I had installed everything, but I didn't know if I was supposed to put it in my pack folder.
Edit: Wait how do I set it to default?
So they've finally decided on adding them. Or at least some form of them. viewtopic.php?f=1&t=102192&start=960

The current Powered Minecart is pretty embarrassing. It's like a gerbil pushing a refrigerator up a slope and the refrigerator is an overweight game developer and the gerbil is made of dryer lint.
Even still I kind of hope the old minecart boosters still work. Kind of grown to like them.

"Mods and Texture packs" --> "Default: The default look of Minecraft". I'm almost wondering if you're got some sort of security software/function/setting on your Mac that has been getting in the way. I actually believe you're doing everything right on your end, but something just does not want to copy over right.
I'd recommend using the newer beta HD texture patch if the old one is giving you issues.
Not sure how it works on a Mac, but if all goes well, you can switch between different texture packs (even of different resolutions!) at will.

I just hate that the newer one has a totally different interface and doesn't work as smoothly...
I don't think I'm going to "update" my patcher to the newer one unless it is absolutely necessary.
If it never becomes necessary, then I will just wait for Xau to come back and update it himself.
Then we can assume the update will be released next week, but before Portal 2 is released (on tuesday)
From this, I come to only one conclusion: The Beta 1.5 update will be released on Monday, April 18th

I'd actually bet money that you're right. Thanks for the updates on that. I didn't think they had seriously considered the whole lightning turning a pig into a zombie pigman.
As you can tell, I don't post on here often so I apologize if this has already been said/asked.
Have you considered setting up an svn? It seems like it would easier for everyone to update their mixcraft files and then just repatch without having to find the thread and redownload via browser. Just a thought I had.
Well, if I can't download this pack, I'll just try doing Norsecraft. It's the simplest download you can get. just download and drag to the texturepacks folder. I need to get rid of the horrible screwed up default right now.
Gray Wildgrass. I know I've seen this before and I had fixed it in previous versions, but for the life of me I cannot figure out why my Wildgrass is gray with v29.
No mods -- fresh MC install + Mixcraft v29. Driving me crazy. I know it has gotta be a simple fix, which makes me even crazier. What is the magic step that I'm missing?

get one of the grasscolor.png files from the Alternate textures file and put it in minecraft.jar in the Misc folder.
Hey man this is pretty awesome. This is the first HD texture pack that I installed that actually worked. To you. If you can, could you make this a 64x64 or even a 128x128? If you could that would be awesome! I just think that you can see too many parts of the block that should be smaller. Thanks!
I mentioned this to Ovo and he pointed out something neither of us considered before. If a powered rail works both ways (i.e., from either direction) then the arrows may be confusing.
Guess we'll have to wait until Monday or whenever 1.5 releases to see what they had in mind.

I've talked quite a lot with Koolwitak about this, and we came to a solution. I will not tell what the solution is though, as he might want to do that himself :wink.gif:
Unfortunately, polls don't work in this topic anymore. They get really glitched up.

If we take into consideration THIS post from Notch's blog:

I like the choice you made on the booster. Reminds me of old school racing games.

Here is a custom grasscolor that makes the biomes look good without changing them too much:
Here is the updated terrain file. If I'm right, it SHOULD work with the Beta 1.5 update:
I updated the image. There are now four possibilities, three of them are new.
