Does version 1.4 of this texture pack with work with version 1.4_1 of Minecraft? I read a post that said a re-install may be required, but other than that all is good. Just wanted to make sure before I confirmed that I wanted to update to current version of MC.
1) Separate download links for HD and Basic:
- One with Mixcraft HD and Octoberfest HD
- One with Mixcraft Basic and Octoberfest Basic
2) Provide support for more mods:
- Mo' Creatures Mod
- Stained Glass Mod
- FancyPack Mod
- Pistons Mod
(list still being updated)
3) Create an Alternate Textures download link:
- Terrain file for all block alternates
- All Guns-N-Ammo textures
- All alternate mob textures
- FPS Pumpkin HUD texture
- Alternate moon texture
- Normal Clouds texture
- Original Font texture
4) Begin work on a 64x64 texture pack:
- This depends mostly on if I can save up enough money to afford Creative Suite 5, as well as how much work I will have to do during my next year of college. (I already have about $600 set aside).

Yes, the texture pack works fine with 1.4_1 (Notch only changes blocks in large updates like 1.2 and 1.3)

Though I usually use a custom 64x compilation now, I've sent a small donation your way to help with further development. If you ever decide to venture into making 64x64 texture packs, I'll be most eager to follow that work! Thanks!
Thanks for the donation! I think if I get enough donations I will start working on a 64x64 pack.

Cant wait for your plans for mod support and especially for the 64x pack!! Separating the 32x and 16x packs sounds great too since i only ever use the 32x one anyway so i can just download that one.
oh and thanks for putting my name at the top of your topic... i didnt think $10 was that much of a donation but if you count it as large then thats cool with me :smile.gif: hope it helps with your 64x pack

It'd take around 130 people each donating at least 10 dollars. 2nd mortgage might get you halfway though.
I'm not saying that as a shot at you but more as a shot at just how outrageous Adobe prices are. (I'd personally like their video editing line myself) Not pessimistically, but realistically I don't think it's going to happen. Don't think I'm saying that you shouldn't ask for donations; I believe you should for actually putting together a texture pack using the resources you have and making it look better than the original default. Hell, I'm probably going to donate at some point myself just for saving me from that horrid default glass texture me and everyone else hates.

Oh don't worry, I wasn't relying entirely on donations for that! I do have a part-time job, but the pay isn't exactly the best in the world, so I figured this might speed things up a bit. I already have like $600 saved up.

made a vid about the 1.4 update using mixcraft.
check it.
Awesome video! I ended up watching the whole thing and being late for my Graphic Design class!
I still think you should give Mixcraft HD a try, it isn't really too hard to install.
EDIT: What recording software do you use? I have never been able to find a good program to record both what is happening on my screen AND what I am saying into a microphone as I am playing a particular game.

Hypercam works for me, haha! Cheap and good enough.
And keep up the great work on the pack, the wolfs are amazing!

Thanks, I have a feeling I'm going to need some kind of recording program soon..
Believe it or not, I have decided I want to start two youtube "Lets Play" series,
which are Minecraft (on normal difficulty) and Amnesia: The Dark Descent.
Why Amnesia? I have never played myself, but from what I hear it's extremely scary.
Of course, as well all know, nothing makes a good Lets Play series like a horror game.

I'd watch that. I use Fraps (not that expensive and well worth it) and then VirtualDub-64-bit (free) with ffdshow (free) to do pretty basic uploads.

I've got some Amnesia videos and even one video showing off your texture pack with the Airship mod.

I was trying to download mixcraft, and I followed the directions exactly, but when I selected my file and went back to complete texture packs, there was no zip file.
Is it a problem that I'm using a Mac?

Please let this be the last time I have to ask!
There is nothing wrong with using a Mac. It should work fine on both Mac and Windows.
So you're saying you opened the patcher, checked the "texture pack" box, clicked "Browse", followed the directory all the way into "Mixcraft v28 Pack > Complete Texture Packs > Mixcraft HD (main pack)" and there was no "Mixcraft HD.zip" file in the "Mixcraft HD (main pack)" folder?
Could you possibly have moved it out of the folder? Try redownloading the pack.
So what if its illegal? do you really think they are going to pick out him of all the millions who steal much, much more?
And you answer your question, yes i would pirate minecraft, i would pirate anything, and everything that i want and that im far to cheap to pay for, ppft, not like they need money.I dont think i have a single game on my computer that isnt pirated, but i do plan on grabbin a Premium minecraft account when i get around to it (and when i get payed)
Could you change the sandstone texture to something more....bricky? (IMHO) the current sandstone looks aweful, and makes sandstone structures look like crap. Misa has a great sandstone texture, maybe reduce Misa's texture to 32x and use it?
You want Adobe creative suite you say? Why on Earth have you not pirated it yet?!
To be honest, that was something I also had thought but not said. Then I thought more:
I will definately use whatever I get for Mixcraft textures, but also for other more professional things, since I'm taking classes to eventually work in Graphic Design for a living.
If he's going the route where he wants to make some money off of doing "Graphic Design for a living" I don't think it'll look very professional to be using a pirated copy. While on the subject though, I do personally know quite a few people who have gone to college for Graphic Design and have wound up not finding work and having to resort to working in department stores or the like because they're not able to find work after college. Meaning, it's already hard enough to find work without making it worse. Using a pirated copy for work would be making it worse.
Of course if someone were to grab a copy just to shop dicks onto everything then there wouldn't really be a need for professionalism. I haven't seen his other work, but I'm assuming he isn't that type (I WONT JUDGE ANYONE IF THEY ARE THO).
And then finally there's Notch's view on it:
“If you steal a car, the original is lost. If you copy a game, there are simply more of them in the world.”
And which quite frankly I'd call bull on. I'm sure he wouldn't be taking so many plane trips if it were true.
and that's enough bout that
EDIT
One last thing. If you look at Adobe's overpriced software as a "tool of trade" then it'd actually become an investment. (Which I actually just realized now) If you are using it for work and then get paid for your work then by all means you may find that it will pay for itself. Like I said, it can be a hard road for Graphic Designers. It can easily become a money pit and then wind up as a part time hobby. And now I'm going to say something optimistic: if he can actually throw together a texture pack amidst the countless other packs there are for this game and actually make it look good and in my own view be actually the best pack I've used then I think he's already ahead of most.

Well, following the instructions exactly proves to be quite difficult when you have separate browser types. That is, I believe, Windows 7 on the video, and an OS X has a different layout of the browser. I currently will go ahead and try to re-download. But it would be nice to have Mac OS X browser instructions. By the way, awesome pack. I present you with this:

You should look at this as a guide:
viewtopic.php?f=1035&t=207209
Like I said, I've been using VirtualDub. I'll probably grab Sony Vegas again though as I really liked it before.
That guide looks like it will help a lot! Thanks for the link!
