What if I edit the alternate glowstone texture so it tiles a bit better? Could we use that?

I'm liking that. It dose look a bit off in the Nether though. Since I'm also getting a "chinese lantern" type of feeling for that, why not a chinese lantern look?
Also, I hate to ask this when you're already so busy with update after update, but could you possibly change the signs a bit or add an alternate texture for them? At the moment they look kinda off when used to make make shift chairs. The coloring is off and they seem a bit too... grainy?
Same. I mentioned it back a bunch of pages. I'd really like to see new Sign and Ice textures.
The new number 4 looks pretty good in artificial settings, but as Rik said, it does need to be roughed up a bit for it's nether formations. Right now it almost looks like a crystaline structure, so perhaps work in that direction?
Geez finding the right balance between natural and artificial seems to be next to impossible.
I personally vote for Glowstone 3, ableit edited a bit. It'd be nice if it could look a bit more glowy instead of a flat image of something that could be glowy...
Perhaps a but more dimension in the texure as well?

I liked the old colors and the new style better...
So what I propose is a blacker version of the new obsidian.
Also, would it be possible to make it look more reflective/shiny/whatever like you did with the gold texture?
Real-life obsidian is almost like a black glass in texture... I think it would look really cool if you could pull that off.

You'd have to be more specific than that, and for me maps work fine.
Are you using an inventory editor (like too many items) to give you maps? If so, you'll only get map_0 which only maps the area around your spawn point. Instead get a crafting table and craft your own maps (all edge slots filled with paper, center slot a compass). That'll give you a different map which maps the area that it was created in, so basically the crafting table will be at the center of the map, although it won't be visible since the map's default zoom is too far out.

I did in this version. The glowstone is back to the way it used to be, for now.
I'm still working on it, but the alternates are at the bottom of the terrain file.
(For those of you who know how to edit the textures, you can customize it)

I actually did darken the obsidian a bit after you said that, even though it isn't very noticable.
Making it look like black or dark purple glass is going to be difficult though... Right now I'm just going to focus on the textures that have a higher priority, like the glowstone and the newer 1.9 textures.

You may also want to put in work towards fixing the model for gold armour. It's bugging me that: 1. I can't fix it for you and, 2.It's not fixed... :biggrin.gif:
Wanted to say everything looks great! Thanks for the 32x icons.png! Made everything just that much more brilliant!
Another thing you may want to look into(Only if you have time and all) is creating the custom animation for flowing water and lava etc. Just would step up the texture once more! Anyway, keep up the amazing work and take a well deserved break after all those updates. :smile.gif:

Alright, let's settle this debate right now so we don't have to talk about it any more! I like the new glowstone better because it doesn't look like ugly yellow crap... but some people have different opinions... so it's time to collect your opinions and make a decision!

Personally I think that you should stick to the 3rd glowstone, mainly 'cus it has a good balance between a natural crystalline look and a not ugly texture to use for lanterns. I think you should really fix the netherrack texture, it looks to unnatural, it needs to be less like red cobble and more like horrid flesh.

I always thought of it as a cluster of light bulbs. In the Nether I pictured it was the same type stuff found in Norfair (Metroid reference).

There is a download link on the first page. Its under downloads and instructions and is called the Mixcraft Version 39 Pack. Hoped this helped.
