After using the new HD texture fix to reinstall your excellent texture pack, this is what the portal looks like:
No idea if this is a product of the HD fix (I suspect it is), but my guess the portal textures need a HD replacement to 'fit' the rest of the world, much like fire and water does.
Yea unfortunately the portal seems to be the result of 32x resolution textures. Just gonna have to keep and eye on xau's HD texture fix thread until he comes up with something.

There's 1 suggestion I could make though, your water texture could use more transparency. I've tricked it up a little to make it less opaque so you can see a lot more below the surface. Check out Ep 9 of my Minecraft videos, my channel is linked in my sig, to see the results.
I absolutely adore this texture pack, and with a couple of Dvan's 'Brown & Bloom' textures thrown in, I have myself a very visually appealing minecraft experience.
In another thread some guys figured out just what part of the trianlge pic that is the overlay for grass and leaves corresponds to which biome.
Here is a relevant picture and explanation so that you can customize the color for each biome:

Haven't been on Joel's server in a while. I've taken another short break from Minecraft, might start up again soon, and whenever I do I'll do a major overhaul of this texture pack.
After I put this in my textures, my MC blackscreened, and now it won't work.
I don't suppose you have a fix? Or was it me?
Did you just put the zip file straight into the textures folder and use the ingame texture pack selector to turn it on? If so I'm pretty sure that's your problem. You need to patch minecraft to 32x32 texture resolution using MCPatcher. The link to that can be found in the OP.
Pretty epic texture pack. IMO it is the best 32p texture pack out there. Only thing I changed was the water transparency (was a bit too opaque for my liking). 10/10, 5 stars, two thumbs up, yadda yadda. Bravo.
need update!! haha, hes probably waiting for the final 1.2 patch, because Notch still has to fix a lot of issues that came up with the initial 1.2 patch.
I am in a similar situation with the top of my furnace and any "birch" wood texture. I have the patcher but I'm not sure if I am doing things right since the problem is still there and I'm a bit...technically challenged. Any advice would be wonderful. Thanks!
I loved how the map looked.Till i saw!!!! The pink stove.... i could not belive my eyes for a map that is all grate it has a pink stove on top that raged me.. im willing to pay 25us dollers to get the corrected...
First, I'll say that I REALLY enjoy the look of this texture pack and I would be absolutely willing to donate if the author would fix the broken textures!
Now, on to business. I decided not to read the 14 pages of posts before I downloaded and installed the texture pack the first time, so when I logged in (after patching) and saw that things were borked, I was a little confused. At any rate, I think I have a basic understanding of how textures work, but would someone be so kind as to walk me through how to fix these textures myself (or perhaps point me to a video that might)? I know I have to get alternate textures from another textures.png and paste them into the appropriate spots in Emperorr's textures.png, but I can't find some of them. For example: Emperorr's sandstone block is an odd mix of the wool texture on the sides and grass on top. I doubt this is intended, and even if it is...I like sandstone! :-p But I can't seem to find the two sandstone texture squares in textures.png (neither a fresh one nor a modded one). Anyway, I'm pretty sure I could do this myself with a little practice, but I could really use some sort of template which points out which squares correspond to which blocks (and parts of blocks) in the textures.png.

That's not something I can fix, but I trust xau will update his HD patcher to fix this problem very soon. Keep an eye on his thread.
