I'm talking about the pack itself. It's been over a month and it could use at least a small update. The ores look like ****. The ore blocks look like ****. The lava looks like ****. Other things look like ****. But everything else about it is magnificent. I'm too much of a lazy ******* to cut&paste parts from other texture packs in, so I'm posting here with the hope that the author will soon revise it.
Uhh.... Don't use it then? It's that simple, really.
This one is not an obligatory update, I just play around with what works better for the pack and what not. I personally think it looks prettier now. And good GOD i hated the old TNT. It was the laziest excuse of a texture I ever did.
Also, a friendly reminder: I'm making textures. I know about programming and fixing Java code just as much as I know about rocket science, so your guess is as good as mine at why this or that stopped working. But so far deleting the /bin folder and redownloading it again never failed me.
Oh wow! Thanks for the update, DVan! Absolutely LOVE your texture pack, and it's the only one I keep going back to.
Have an awesome holiday as well! :smile.gif:
EDIT: DOH! Ran into a small bug. Seems like some of the blocks aren't rendering properly. I've tried it on a clean 1.2.6 client install only using the texture pack and xau's HD texture patcher as well.
atreyu: Grass color on the top of the block is changing according to biome that block is in and side texture is always the same. It's almost impossible to have a perfect match. Which is why I got rid of this green patch in the previous version. You can always make a version rollback, this update was purely cosmetical anyway.
Ah, I see. :smile.gif: Fair enough. I can see how much of a pain in the butt it would be to match it, hehe. The terrain colors you use are spectacular. Thanks again!
This is the most beautiful texture pack I've seen. This is the one that convinced me to not be afraid of patching my game for the higher resolution textures. I love what you've done with the grass and foliage colors. The balancing act between the greys in smoothstone, cobble, and half blocks is excellent. The items look classy. Nice job.
But I do have a few points of constructive criticism.
The purple gravel really doesn't work for me. I changed mine to shades of black and grey, darker than smoothstone but lighter than bedrock, and I think that works better.
I think clay should be a muted red, rather than bluish grey.
The moon should be white, not blue.
The sun doesn't need lens flares.
I criticize only because this pack is such excellent work, it needs just a little push to be perfect.
I agree on the gravel, moon and clay but not on the sun.
I like it it looks more tropical and adds an element of gfx this game doesn't have.
It also hides having hideous edges. I would say do the same with the moon but its unrealistic.
hey man i love your texture pack i seriously do i just hate how the brick blocks and half-steps look like, is there a way to get the default ones on this texture pack?
Well i used it and it has lots of bugs that i think are me.
Nether looks like a ice world
All thing I hold in my hand have some weird flacky look to it
armour doesn't change at all
pumpkins have water side and a fire side
i heard you've been having troubles but are these part of the issue?
...Are you ****ing serious? Have you not heard of Xau's texture patch, which has been posted over and over again all over the forums? Hell, the original post to this thread clearly states the "obligatory 32x32 texture fix by Xau" and provides a link. Look, I'm sorry for sounding like a ****, but there have been so many goddamn people like you who haven't done any digging to fix their problems at all and end up posting arbitrarily in threads that don't deserve their incompetence, so **** me if I get a little angry when I see a repost that says "I'm a huge **** that doesn't have time to fix my own problems."
Apologies if this has been addressed before. I've had a look through the thread and can't find anything on it.
For some reason, the top of my dirt blocks is the classic neon green, where as the sides are delicious brown.
You kind gents wouldn't know what's causing this would you?
I've used the patcher as well.
Well, you could try looking a few posts above your own... First post on this page... big picture...
There's a mod for implementing a system that allows the side grass to work with the biome colors, but you need to at least know to use something like Photoshop. viewtopic.php?f=25&t=107720

The chest textures aren't right, you put the front of the chest in the place of the back, so if I use the double chest, their front will be always to the wall. Also, I didnt like the Iron Block, it seens that it doesnt belong to the pack.
(my opnion)
Thanks, amazing pack.

That would be bedrock. You will never break it
