And also (plus the portal thing), can we get a list of the new inventory items? There are a few things I've found growing that i'm not sure what they are. If they are just new scenery (not retextures of existing plants) then will my save work on another computer without a texture pack?
Hey, can someone upload a save with working portal to Nether for me? I really need to test ghast and pigmen skins and i haven't played singleplayer since the first release of SMP. The last time I had to debug the new textures I was aking an admin of server i play on to switch it to hell for a couple of minutes and it's kind of… inconvenient to do every time.
I'll do an update with mob skins and other slight texture changes after Notch releases a texture pack support, so probably tomorrow or on Friday.
MattBee2k2: …Aand what does the grass color have to do with texture resolution?

Texture support released.
Tried the newest version of brown and bloom with the patch and it works fine, but Xau's 32x32 patch is giving me some issues. Is there some way to incorporate that into the texture pack??

It would still be broken. Xau has to fix it.
. . . and now that texture pack support has been released, which does not support .rar, could we start using .zips now?
Never liked .rar anyways. .7z is superior and free. But we might as well use .zip now that Minecraft supports it.

Hi, wanted to say that i love your pack :biggrin.gif: . It's the best one around if you ask me.
The newest version bugs me though. Would it be possible to make a separate pack without the new item icons? They confuse me (especially iron and stone stuff, the contrast is a bit too low), and tbh i liked the old pick axes more
As for the Nether - i like how you made the lightstone seamless, although i feel the netherstone could have a more... rocky feel rather than the dust/dirt it has now (Yes, i am aware it looks similair in the vanilla version)
Look, I'm not going to just give up on something I spent my entire week on. If you hate my icons tell me WHY you hate them so i could make them BETTER or simply delete items.png and stop whining. I don't give a damn if you "loved the old version more", i need criticism, not just your opinion.
And I still don't have a single save file with working Nether.
Being very helpful here, guys!
I started a brand new SP game just after the Halloween patch, and have limited play time, so I haven't opened a nether gate yet. But if no one else gets you a save with an active nether gate, I'll try to get one open tonight.

Chill out mate, i didn't mean "remove it forever", just "upload a different version with a new link", didn't know i can just delete that file without any issues, hey, i'm fairly new to this game.
And if you want criticism:
-The contrast between iron and stone tools seems to be too low (Hard to distinguish them, at least for me).
-The diamond pick-axe doesen't feel right, it looks a bit too... Not sure how to put it, tribal? for something of that quality (I guess it's about it not being curved or something)
-The new redstone lights look nice, not sure why everone thinks it looks like a dildo.
-The general confusion - It's not your fault, but it's a tad hard to figure out what's what after changing the icons (Except the lighter maybe - that was a fantastic idea)
-The feather is a tad too big, i kept thinking it was a sword
-The flowers and seeds look awfuly similair

DVan, I love you.
Right, see, most of Minecraft's community is worthless, they can't be older than 14. If they're complaining, let them move on and just ignore them.
I, however, appreciate the enormous amount of effort that has gone into this pack. It's the only pack that I will use. Everything else is horrendously ugly to me (the only pack that came close was the Quandary pack).
I look forward to future updates (having some new mob skins will be great).
Ok, this texture pack support is tricky, because it doesn't actually change the foilagecolor.png and grasscolor.png to the ones i put in the zip file. So if you want the full experience you'll still have to replace them manually or you'll be stuck with the original colors. In fact, B&B Vanilla sort of works as is, but it's still highly recommended to replace them.
Now, to what the hell is B&B Vanilla. It's basically an older version plus the new textures and nothing else. No custom mobs (in case you will hate them too), no custom items, old HUD, old everything, just enough new stuff to keep it playable.
Balduran: Well NOW we're getting somewhere. And lighter was around since SMP's realistic pack, so it's not exactly my idea.
While we're on suggestions, I really like the rework I did of the diamond gem. I got a little tired of that piercing blue diamond that's been present in every texture pack ever, so I made my own.
I figure this works even better since Brown & Bloom tends to be quite a bit more "realistic" than most texture packs.
I suppose it's hard to tell without an in-game shot, but I've yet to find any god damn diamond since the update (and I unfortunately destroyed my saves because I'm an idiot), but regardless, what do the rest of you think?
Pedgi: Realism shouldn't come in the way of game design :smile.gif: Desaturating diamonds will mean that now there will be THREE different tools in game using different shades of gray and i have enough problem making stone and iron tools distinguishable. It is a pretty nice icon though.
You could just pretend it's mithril or something :smile.gif:
I have a suggestion, today I did an oral on MC and as naturally everyone thought it was rubbish until they saw the cute chicken and i found your chicken only has 1 pixel eyes i changed mine to 2x2 and i think yours should be too your pack is amazing and that is the only problem besides a thing i have with 2 rectangles of diamond looking thing i tried posting but it hasn't appeared or maybe i clicked the wrong button anyway its the thing im holding can someone tell me what it is http://tinypic.com/r/28jef06/7
DVan: It's not desaturated. It's shades of blue, still, but not quite as piercing and more "reflective". Although until I actually get to see it in-game it would be unfair of me to actually state how well it works.

Very similar colour scheme to my very own texture pack =P
None of that overly colorful trees and grass like many other packs. I might try this one out in a day or so.

BTW, here's a picture of a raw diamond straight from the ground: http://www.apostropher.com/blog/img/lesotho_promise.jpg
Personally I just think that diamond looks better than the bright blue, pre-carved gem found in all of the textures.
