You know, the original super mario brothers required you to touch an axe power up when you were fighting bowser in a given dungeon. Maybe there would be some means of using that as a template for the axe?

Thanks for the offer, but I'll have to decline. This is my first texture pack and I'd very much like to gain experience from doing every aspect, as I plan to do more texture packs after this one. Doing it alone might be better for that.

You do good work. I suggest you use a Hammer Bro.'s hammer for the pick axes and a Fire Flower for the flint. Or maybe a Fire Flower as the bow and fireballs are arrows.

I was already planning on making hammers from the RPG games as swords since they're the primary weapons. But that leads me clueless as to pick-axes so I might consider it if I find something else for swords. As for Fire Flowers, was already planned for Flint and Tinder, obviously. Skeletons might end up as Snufits or something. Thanks for the suggestions.

Jumping in water creates a splash of foam and bubbles. I couldn't replicate the effect from SM64 exactly (giant pillar-like splash) but this is close in my view.
As for items, I have most of them down. I had to break my theme to have the sake of having options. After all, Mario didn't use much in SM64.
Swords are Hammers from the RPGS(pm regular, pm super, mlss super, pm ultra, mlss ultra). I left the non-diamond colored PM Ultra hammer at the bottom for anyone who wants it.
Axes are based off of the Ax from SMB and its re-appearance in MLSS. Gold is the Ax of Destruction from Warioland 3.
Flint and tinder is based on the Fireflower's appearances around SM64, SMW and PM. Apples are based off of the apples from PM, and mushroom stew is PM fried shroom. Eggs are the unused yoshi egg in SM64's texture files. Planning on making chickens Yoshi to fit.
Books are bookends. Spooky!
I'm liking what I'm seeing. Do you have any plans for bow & arrows? One thought, when I heard of the hammer as the sword, was to play arrows as the opposite weapon in the RPGs, a Koopa Troopa Shell. :biggrin.gif: (Perhaps the "bow" could be a hand, like you're getting ready to kick it or something?)
Skeletons could then be made into Koopa Troopas... >.>

I was actually planning on making skeletons Snufits, since they shoot those bullets at you. Then I was thinking of making the bow a Super Scope (Mario did use it in Yoshi's Safari after all) for those bullets to work.
Koopas are going to be sheep, since Koopas can end up shell-less.
Thwimps as slimes? I'll consider that, unless I can't find a good place Goombas. In which case, they'd be slimes.

I made the health and armor bars look as close to the power meter in bar-form as possible. I think it came out well.
