Oooh shiny.
I like the idea of removing the rivets from the sand and gravel. (Kind of wish I had thought of that myself actually.)
I also like the idea of modifying the animation but the rivet removal looks a bit odd on textures without rivets.
(Though it looks great on the ones with the rivets.)
I think I like Legosheep's version of the chest the best.
Still not completely sold on the torch modifications. I may take another stab at that today.
As for the changes to the red dust, I haven't gotten a chance to look at that in game, but I suspect you will see little chunks of the other circles on T and corners with the track texture you have. The game crops the + for doing corners and T sections so that the middle winds up being 6px square out of the +.
(The 6px cropping is why I have that 2px wide border around the middle of the +.)

Tis far better to be a witty fool than a foolish wit.
You can't install texture packs on a server only locally.
To do it, download the appropriate files (just right click dl the images from my first post) and then copy them into the minecraft.jar replacing the ones already there.
(The items.png file is in the gui sub-folder within the jar file)
As for how you actually open up a .jar, either 7-zip or Winrar. Personally I use 7-zip but a lot of folks here seem to like winrar.
For more detailed information, I believe one of the stickies should prove helpful.

i lowered the rivets on the dirt/grass to match with the rest,
added the cloth block,
also i added some cossy mobblestone,
and i modified the tracks to suit my needs.

Hey, coudl you put the most up-to-date version of this pack in the OP? I'm not sure which version is which now.
i lowered the rivets on the dirt/grass to match with the rest,
added the cloth block,
also i added some cossy mobblestone,
and i modified the tracks to suit my needs.
