Do you guys think I should just use this for marking the popular texture packs after the voting is over?
Well instead of multiple stars, you could have certain star colors (gold, silver, bronze).
But I'm not too concerned on how you do it, as I am satisfied if you go either way. I would personally recommend the use of multiple stars, as I can imagine multiple stars are more noticeable than one colored-star and I have a strange feeling that some poor fellow is, unfortunately, color blind to-the-max, seeing in black and white. Whatever works, I guess. :tongue.gif:
HEY LILYO! ive made the new MARSHCRAFT logo, may you add it to the list
also i thought of a fair way everyone gets their texture pack shown,
IF a texture pack updates to the version of an update that comes out, they get moved to the top of the list, because of being the one updated, and someone who updates their pack next gets to be 2nd, but they HAVE to post that they have updated it on the thread here, hows that sound? so all packs get fairly advertised and gives them more inspiration to get it done

That may be a source of inspiration, but all this would translate to would be chaos. It would be a race to be the first to update, as the result you detail would then allow a person to soak up lots of attention. I just don't find this fair at all, but its only IF. :tongue.gif:
If there was a way in which I could see something done, I would somehow allow my audience to be able to find updated texture packs by separating the list with breaks within the page corresponding to their latest version compatibilities. The order of the packs would remain the same and all that would be necessary would be to move the packs in their proper place if they are updated, but when new packs are added, they get the attention they deserve for however much time Lilyo decides them to have. It would probably be a good idea to make sure he knows the time in which the packs were added to the list so that we don't have anyone, accidentally, soaking up the attention more than they were allowed when they were first added to the list.
The reason i sudgested that is because i noticed, texture pakcs only get maybe... 2-7 days of glory or so, then they're dead, like my texture pack... and the feeling sucks because you feel that nobody likes your pack anymore, so i feel like discontinuing all this hard work, because i think im the only user now..
do you see what i mean by whoever updates gets put to the top so we can have texturepacks with glory for longer perioids of time?

I expected that feeling from you, I expect a lot of people feeling this way. I don't know how everyone can get their glory... and nowadays, texture packs are in the hundreds, maybe even in the thousand (at least that is what I expect within the thousands of topics in this forum). I have yet to see perfection in a texture pack left unnoticed and unrecognized, but its possible. And the simple, average, no-better-than-default packs are avoided by the public because they weren't catching the eye of the audience - they weren't satisfying gameplay or whatever reasons. Where you stand, I do no know, but on the plus side, you've made it on the Texture Pack Central List so that's progress.
In the old MC Forums, there were no preset filters. The topics were organized by post-time from latest to oldest. When a person would post a reply on a topic, they would be at the top of page for everyone to see until they drowned down the pages or got bumped again. In the new, we have preset filters, so we can choose what we want to see, and with that, they see the popular packs, as their content can be splendid. I don't expect bumps anymore, seeing that they aren't going to help bring one's topic to attention like the old days.
However, the physics still apply: Supply and Demand.
This concept is one of the reasons why HD packs are more popular than SD. They supply large pixel art, favorable to the crowd, and therefore it demands their attention.
But now that the crowd for many of the new topics have narrowed over time... the attention must come from another source. The Texture Pack Central must provide a way for the decency of texture art to be glorified once again... The new foundation of the MC Forums demand for its proper structure. Lilyo needs to find a solution, I suppose. But the problem might be larger than what Lilyo can do, so I cannot tell you if there will be a solution for some time.
Again, I'm not gonna make this a race to the top. Everyone gets their equal share of being at the top for a week or two and there's not much more I can do. I'm not going to be listing packs based on the time it takes for them to get updated and I imagine a well made and popular pack will take longer to update than one of those unoriginal simple packs that are nothing more than a color surrounded by a darker colored border.
I might rearange the packs based on a randomized order though at the end of the month after I mark the top packs. I mean, some packs like Eld's, Freden's, and Quandary have been at the bottom of the list for months haha.

Do you plan on removing these unoriginal simple packs, considering that they don't serve much benefit to the community?
What is the actual definition of a "simple" pack or a "creative" pack?
Simple texture packs are maybe something like 1x1 or like, imagine the default pack, but think of the colours not as a texture but like a single colour, for example 'simplecraft'
Creative textures are texturepacks for minecraft classic, basic enough

E: hm, something like this maybe. The bronze will be a bit more... bronze though.

Curse Premium(I personally like the multi-star format better)
The bronze star isn't too brown to feel like third place, so that's a plus. :cool.gif:
