There was even going to be a party for you. A big party. That all your friends were invited too. I invited your best friend the companion cube. Of course, he couldn't come because you murdered him. All your other friends couldn't come either, because you don't have any other friends. Because of how unlikeable you are. It says so right here in your personal file: UNLIKEABLE, liked by no one, a bitter, unlikeable loner, who's passing shall not be mourned, SHALL NOT BE MOURNED. That's exactly what it says. Very formal. Very official. It also says you were adopted, so thats funny too.
K well I've updated a few of them and I might add like one or more till saturday, but I wont get to all of them till the weekend. Got a lot of school work and ****.
I would like to request getting instruction for re-texturing minecraft for a windows XP.
I been looking online for over 30 minutes trying to find a answer and still I've come up with 0 answers and I'm getting very annoyed.
The one posted by the topic creator gives a picture for a MAC computer and I end up with file names which are non existent on a windows like fore example minecraft.jar.
I tried installing AaGeOn's Bump Mapping HD Texture Pack and it comes with a patcher which at 1st I tough cool it would be automatic but alas it did not work.
At 1st I tough to myself no big deal I applied new textures in different games in the past mostly unreal tournament games from 1 to 3 so I figures how hard can it be?
Apparently its harder then it needs to be.
Also with AaGeOn's Bump Mapping HD Texture Pack comes instruction for a manual patch again I figured no big deal following a list like the good old UT patching days I can handle that.
here is what i got
1. Run the patcher -( So that's what the patcher was for )-
2. Click "Minecraft Folder and Extract the bumpmaft.jar and MrMpatcher.jar from the .rar in the bin folder
3. Close the patcher
4. In the minecraft folder, delete minecraft.original.jar and the file called "version" -( Both minecraft.original.jar and version doesn't exsist and the only file that is remotely close to that is minecraft-1.1_02.jar but if I remove that the patcher won't work )-
Everything else beyond that point is awaste of time but for humor's sake here it is anyways.
5. Run Minecraft with the launcher and log in to make sure the latest version is downloaded
6. Close Minecraft
7. Run the patcher and click browse nest to the texturepack option: select bunmpmaft.jar
8. check custom water and lava
9. Click Patch.
10.open up MrMpatcher.jar (double click it)
11.In output: Select minecraft.jar
12. press yes
13. select better light and grass
14. Patch
15. Play minecraft
P.S: I did go into my windows folder option and made sure that all hidden files and folder where displayed.
Ok I decided to try it again after doing something else to clear my head and well I manage to find the files in question ( don't ask me how I missed 'em I must have been blind ) anyways everything looks good but when I try to select a different texture in minecraft only the default text is available.
Someone help me here come on this is really frustrating me.

this is not a "mod central" you goof, it's a texture pack list with some out of date mods. texture packs are not mods. mods are not texture packs. mods are awesome. texture packs can be awesome but a lower percentage are. you ought to rename the thread because your mod list is badly out of date. that or copy and paste one stop mod shop.

This thread is exactly what the name says it is. A texture pack list and a mod list, and as I said before, I'll work on updating both of them soon.
i think we should separate them. this thread is in the texture packs section, so it should be only on texture packs and texture-pack-related mods (like the hd patcher)
for non-texture-pack-related mods, there is one stop mod shop, which has following advantages over the non-texturepack-modlist in this thread:
[*:2mers37t]you don’t have to scroll past the texture packs t get to other mods
[*:2mers37t]it is in the correct section
[*:2mers37t]it is clearer*
––––––––––––––––
*in germany we have a word for this which fits better than “clear”: „übersichtlich“, which means “it is easy to get an overview, find things and orient oneself”
i didn’t want to offend you, i just thought that two threads with the same goal mean double work and confusion for no reason.
collaboration leads to less work for you: the two threads could crosslink, you two could communicate about what you would like to see in the other thread and everyone gains.
but if you don’t want to, i’m fine with that, it’s your thread and nobody forces me to scoll past the texture packs. (or you to work less)
Actually, I'm thinking about ditching the mod list. It's getting really annoying to update. I don't know how Creeper does it :/
I might actually just do something like remove the current list and make one just for the most used and popular mods out there like Mo' Creatures, Biome Terrain, Mr. Modds, etc. (i'll try not to make it too biased :P)
I think that would be a bit more useful than just a huge list of like 1000 mods that no one will ever take the time to read through.
but i’m kind of a modding freak. a best-of list would be useful (in my opinion), too, for people who do’t want to look for mods all the time.
maybe you could restrict it to these mods which change large parts of the game (so mods tweaking one element are not in it but mods adding lots of stuff are)… just an idea.
I'd Suggest just dumping the mods anmd keeping the Texture packs. Thats what i'm looking for A thread where I can see what texture packs there are with their details AND when they were last updated. I'd also like to see texturePacks start putting in graphics for the Mods that are out there eg: that support Zan's minimap,Mo's Creatures, etc... (especially in the different sizes eg: 32*32, 64*64 , 128*128). I feel the texture packs are falling behind in developement and need some special attention to draw more artists in to work on new looks, fresh etc...
which is why I was asking ifthere was a dedicated Texture Pack thread
Best of lists are very personal.. I think a poll thread asking people what mods they use. (a different poll for different version of MC
They won't be personal, and as for a poll, it would be slightly redundant. We all know which mods are most popular and those are the ones that will make it on the list, not to mention that the polls don't work well on this forum so I'd have to make like 5 new topics if I were to include every mod out there. The amount of views/ post on each mod thread will be a good enough of a indication to which mods are most popular.
And as for more texturing of mods, it's just not something people seem to be into, as most mods don't really have that many textures.
