My RP server has always used different variations of texture packs out there but I finally decided enough was enough! :biggrin.gif: I set out to make my own. Needless to say it takes inspiration from a lot of stuff out there, mainly Chrono Trigger :tongue.gif: and the like. Anyway with the re-launch of our RP Server coming up [more info on that below if you’re interested] I figured it was a great time to release this pack. It’s very WIP, and some things are missing but the basics are all there. And of course I will continue to work on it/update as time goes on.
1. Download the file and drag it over to your .minecraft folder and place in the ‘texturepacks’ folder.
2. Download the latest HD Patcher MCPatcher HD
3. Run the patcher.
4. Click "Patch"
5. Run minecraft
6. Select the texture pack under the ‘Texture Pack’ tab in the main menu and get to playing!

I want to see the permission you got from Doku, by stealing his plank texture and just re-coloring it. I don't think Doku gave you permission, since he clearly says that he don't want people to use his textures!

I can see similarities in this and Doku.... just like I see Doku's similarity to every single old-style RPG out there. Having used this pack, and several styles of Doku's, I can't say I'd mistake the two of them for one another. Download it, try it out, and compare before immediately slamming a pack. Give it thought.
After downloading the texture pack I found that it was more inspired by Dokcraft rather than copied. It has enough good ideas and differences to stand on it's own in my opinion.
This is a great texture pack, ive used it and it seems very fitting. And to all you people who say its stealing from doku? Its not have you seen jadoku or tydoku? no one complains of them stealing? and they even have "doku" in the name?
If you dont like it dont post your bad opinion.
Basically he took the pack, changed a few things to make it his own, and sent it back out. It's not stolen, but it doesn't show any true talent or skill either.
...Just looking through and seeing how you took every texture and altered little things to make them your own.
For instance, taking the lattice out of the glowstone, making the creases in the dirt and side-grass blocks a bit blurrier, and the top of slabs being divided maybe once or twice more. Grass looks almost identical to that of Doku's, and the ores feel like they were sliced up and rearranged in a different pattern on the stone. The precious blocks are just the framed version of doku's gold block, recolored for the different metals. Wood is self-explanatory, being in the exact same style and being shaded the exact same way. Leaves are in the same boat as the wood.
The most original looking block here is probably the sandstone! That's all!
This is definitely not a copy, but it's a ripoff.
Those are just my thoughts.
On another note, I don't think you're allowed to advertise for your server in this forum in any means aside from signature. Not sure, but you might want to remove that and put it in your sig.
He stolen some for chest, door, plank and older version of dirt (not mention grass is obvious editing like the pumkin), just need to superpose dokucraft and Drezden terrain.png to see it.
Has Doku said for his Dokucraft pack "As this is still very WIP I would appreciate if no one copied or used my textures in their packs until this is a full release".
I have been playing minecraft with Doku for ages and Drez says that this was inspriration from Doku.
Stop trolling the thread becuase he said that it is Based not copiedfrom Doku.
So play with Drez's pack then play with Doku you can see that it is not the same textures.

This obviously is strongly based off Doku's pack, and while it is fine that it exists since it is (for the most part) his own work, if he was earning money for it I don't think it would be okay. I think of it as taking the idea and re-selling it. I mean, you look at companies that like to recreate a crappy version of the Wii like they're satan, right? Why is it any different to look at a recreated texture pack the same way? I'm obviously exaggerating a bit, but come on!

I still don't think this is even a good thread to exist, but technically it isn't breaking any rules right now. That annoys me.
Ok, I downloaded the pack and, after extensive testing: I can say that, while the pack is similar to Dokucraft Dark (the most similar one in my opinion), it is MOSTLY all original. I say mostly because the leaves are almost the same. I could tell the difference looking at the textures in Windows Photo Viewer, but not when I was switching between the two in-game. The other factor is that the framing on the chests is very close to Doku's textures. Again, I could tell when I looked at them in Photo Viewer, but not switching between them in-game. A few other blocks are similar, such as the ores and the cactus, but I could tell that they are originals.
My final verdict is that, while based off of it, Drezden RP Pack is not a ripoff of Dokucraft. I would change the chest and leaves, and maybe the brown mushrooms, but the rest is original.
And finally, Drezden, good job! The textures are nice, if a bit dark for my tastes, and are very well created. I have to say that I actually like this BETTER than Dokucraft. Keep up the good work!

Edit: Lol at PlayStation/Xbox reference. Am personally and Xbox fan, so I just HAVE to put this here: Does that mean that Dokucraft is going to get hacked???
While this does look quite nice and I will use it because of that, I'm still against the fact that these are just edited versions of Doku's textures... Yes, it is rather obvious.
I do like the changes you made but please, make your own textures from scratch! It'll be a lot more satisfying at the end of the day and if you follow this style (obviously not exactly this), it would make an awesome pack.
I flipped the dirt texture and the tree textures to there original state and laid them on top of DokuCraft dark. Here is a .gif to compare a few of the features. You did indeed edited a few of the textures to the point that I would give you credit however flipping and changing the contrast on a texture dose not count as original. If I where you, I'd get rid of anything like that from the pack or continue to rework the texture until you can call it your own.

Why would it be ridiculous?
Because he would be getting paid for stealing another person's work, i.e. Doku, who has it available to download for free.
