I too am currently in the process of making my own pack.
- What I found to be helpful is to make a few different variations of a block or item etc. Then when you are ready to add it in to the pack, choose which ever block you like the best.
- Know your editing tools VERY VERY well. Some tools you would never think of using, end up making your pack brilliant.
- Don't be afraid to look at other packs for ideas, browse the forums for less known packs for item ideas or color inspirations. This being said, don't just steal entire textures.
-Make it YOUR pack. If somebody wants to be wretched and vile, so be it. Take some constructive criticism if you WANT. If you like it the way it is, don't change it because someone is mean to you. It's YOUR pack!
- Lastly, have fun making it, have fun posting it in the community, and have fun using it! Just have fun!
Good luck,
-arms
