NightVision
As you may know this isn't a new idea and has been done many times. But the problem with these masks that they just don't do a lot to help you. So what makes mine different from the others. Well instead of using a green tint that causes confusion I use a yellow or yellow greenish tint. It allows you to see further and more than most night vision textures. And best of all no mod required. It works well under water during the day and is helpful while mining.
Here is how to get it.
Know that I'am still working on making it perfect and if you have any suggestions please say so.
Put one of the photos bellow into your misc folder(Located in your Minecraft.jar) saved as pumpkinblur.png, then get a pumpkin and put it where you would put a helmet.
Version 4.0
In the 4.0 update the comparison square is removed and some visually appealing effects were added to make it look more like real night vision goggles without taking away the effectiveness of the 3.5 update.
Note that its hard to see the details in the photo below but their there.
Yeah i does pretty good in total darkness lol.
Actually I navigated my way through a giant cave a eventually ran into some lava and found diamond. lol true story did it this morning.
Edit is that version 1.0 or 2.0???
2, I'll put 1 on now and post some later. Try making the yellow a tad bit lighter.
I made a thread about this like 2 months ago. But glad to see others editing the idea, I've found that a blue tint works best, because in the day time it doesn't blind you so bad.
Not only did you blatently ripoff mine and others ideas but you did it on my birthday... You could have mentioned me.
I'm the one that designed the viewport so that you can actually tell how dark it is outside. And put all the other designs together to create what you are passing off as your own.
The reason for that is because it's actually difficult to tell when the mask can be taken off in the daytime. It's also easier to see lights that way.
I'm now going to create Version 2.0 even though the original purpose of this has been almost defeated by the addition of beds.
Ok you tying to accuse me of stealing your ideas is offensive espcially when you try to turn it around on me and and make it look like your work. I am not stupid. Really your birthday who gives a crap, so the next time you try to claim mine or anyones work as yours dont be stupid about it. so now get off the forums, because no one likes people like your kind. Trying to get in the credits does give you rep, but not when you did crap.

P.S. this is mainly for mining and you cant sleep out the darkness in a mine. :tongue.gif: noob
Yeah whatever, you DID steal my ideas. You're the type that nobody likes, someone that STEALS copywritten material and thinks there won't be consequences. If I wanted to I could sue you, and depending on your attitude towards me I might just do so. So the next time you RIP someone off and don't even talk to them or give them credit for the work THEY have done and the ideas THEY came up with, you better just consider they're not someone willing to teach you a lesson boy.
Cool. Mind if I incorporate it into my texture pack? (it's kind of technology-based and night vision would be perfect for that.) And of course, I'd give you credit for it. :smile.gif:

Version 3.5- RECOMMENDED FOR BEST RESULTS.
This is so far the best. The box in the corner shows what everything looks like without the tint.
Version 3.0
While 3.0 looks cooler 3.5 is clearer and is more effective.
Flash light effect and range finder
Version 1.0
Problems:Tint is to "thick"
Version 2.0
Best under water.
I'll try to get up a version without the black stuff soon.
An experimentation with red tints.
Red Version 1.0
Best at night and in dark caves.
Problems: Does bad under water (makes the water purple almost), but is great for mining and being out at night.
A lot of this is personal preference and you may not like certain ones. It's true.
