I like the bigger stuff better. Much more original and artistic :3
I say go with that (that big creeper looks beyond amazing)
I hear you guys. I usually hate higher res stuff too. Overly referenced photos with a smidge of touch up and waaaaay too much noise. I had a ton of fun making these rocks, though.
The big problem for me is, I hate figuring out how to run the HD textures. Total buzzkill.
128 looks like a nice fit or middle ground, I've always though anything bigger than 128 is a bit excessive. Although making textures in 256 and shrinking down to 128 feels a bit more controlled.
i like 32x32, really, really good middle ground.... i used your 16x16 texture pack for a long time because of its simplicity, but gerudoku made me realize that a little higher resolution is really nice. then i found out that 128-256 is just awful... laggy and not all that good looking compared to a 32x32 of the same pack.
ill still try it if you go 128x128 i guess. I GUESS. looking forward to the release!
Nice experiments! That rock would look rather strange when tiled on a floor though. It's something that would only really work on a wall. Also, I think the rock could use some color variation, since it's very monochromatic right now.
Anyway, I'm curious what these type of textures would look like on the minecraft geometry. I'm not a fan of HD textures for the most part either, but if it's handpainted and stylized, it might just work.
Do it 64!
It's exactly in the middle of what people think would be awesome so it manages to annoy everyone! SCORE! :tongue.gif:
No but seriously, 64 is still runnable on more computers and from that preview it looks like it keeps all the detail.

Honestly, no offense to anybody that hasn't been able to figure it out, but ummm, it's really no more difficult that pressing a couple buttons and inserting a few files into the minecraft.jar file.
I do wish that more people would take the time to figure it out, they might be pleasantly surprised (once they've got it working right) at how great Minecraft can really look.

Or you could download the 2.0 patcher beta, run the jar file, click ok and then any texture pack in your normal texture pack folder AUTOMATICALLY works with custom water, lava AND biomes no matter the size :wink.gif:
You'll stay on 16p for terrain ? these preview textures are awesome.

Yes, I am a rock golem who likes leather pants.

Too much details go wrong on that game IMO, since the world itself is not detailed and is made of big blocks.
