Well, I've started a new pack. Rather than inundate the users of my old pack with major changes, I am making a second to quell my more detailed, but still cartoony, ambitions.
The pack is 16x for world textures and 32x for MOBs. What this means is HD mobs with no need for patchers. Best of both worlds. It's my firm belief that one can make a reasonably detailed pack with the 16x format, so this is my chance to back that up.
I'm really excited about this pack. :biggrin.gif: The first texture pack I ever used was your cartoon pack, and I absolutely adore it, and I used it for a long time exclusively. Recently I've been using some more detailed 16p packs (though the install that my nephew plays on still uses the cartoon pack), so this pack looks like it might give me the best of both worlds.
The terrain textures look great, but that creeper is just ssssspectacular. I can't wait to see the rest of it!

If there's one bit of advice I could give, maybe change the sidegrass a little from your other pack. Variety is the spice of life after-all! Sorry if that's just a stand in and I can't read! :tongue.gif:
Thanks, everyone! Here's a download of a prerelease version. Only a few mobs are changed and many textures are still simple, but it will give you an idea of where things are going.
I love the wooden planks and dirt textures, and the new creeper looks as great as it did in the screens.
Is the lack of sidegrass going to be permanent? I know it's annoying that the sidegrass doesn't change color to match the topgrass, but having no sidegrass at all looks worse than slightly mismatched color IMO.

Ores are totally placeholder.
Mobs are still generally low resolution aside from Creeper and part of the Zombie.
Side grass needs to be implemented.
Snow-grass and Cake are totally untouched.

I'm very interested in seeing how your stylish work translates to these more detailed textures! Having double-res mobs definitely allows for a lot more creativity.
Ok, after playing for a bit I noticed: The dirt is absolutely awesome, gonna look amazing with sidegrass when it's done. Creeper looks incredibly frightening, It's eyes look like it's sucking out your soul

I really like smoothstone as well, gonna turn out awesome I think!
The grass is hard for me. I always seem to make it too busy. Definitely going to go through revisions. That's why no side grass is implemented, because I know the top will change. :smile.gif:
