I have a large Skyblock island that I want to paste into my map, as a reminder of all the time I spent on it, all the builds, etc. The island size is 200x255x200 (X, Y , Z), and has been saved in a schematic file.
I have been having a struggle in using some tool to paste this into my archive Minecraft map. I could not get MCEdit or MCEdit 2 to function properly on my Mac, so resorted to installing Worldedit. I managed to clear out an area of about 250x250 on that map, clear from 0 to 255, so it is a kind of a Skyblock environment to paste it into.
I have tried standing in various places in this empty space, and did the commands "/schematic load file" and then "//paste". Every time I try this, I don't get a specific error from Worldedit. What happens is that after about 5-10 seconds I am disconnected from the server (running locally on my Mac). I look at the Terminal log, and nothing is reported there either. Then, after about 10-15 more seconds a large number of error messages are spit out by the server, ultimately quitting back to the command line. I restart the server, and when I join the server I may or may not be standing on a section of the island. It is always partially loaded, some better, some worse.
I get the impression that the schematic was saved from the place where I usually spawn at. But there are often pieces missing, sometimes entities (sometimes there is water, sometimes there is not), and the lighting is inconsistent (the lights are still there, but they do not give off any light, much like that bug that affected the update to 1.14.x earlier this year).
I figure the consistent crashes after doing the //paste command are part of the reason for partial loads of the schematic. My question is: Is there a better way to run Worldedit to paste in this schematic? Is there a better tool in which to paste this schematic? Do I need to try this with a 1.13.x version of the server running (which is where the schematic was //copy -ied from)?
I have allocated 3 GB of RAM to the server running.
Hey! I would recommend is using Fast Async WorldEdit (FAWE). It is a better version of world edit that is better to use. (https://intellectualsites.github.io/download/fawe.html) Choose your version and download it. DO NOT DOWNLOAD VOXEL SNIPER. Once you have put it in your plugins folder restart your server and wait for the (Fast Async WorldEdit) folder to appear. Once it has make a folder called schematics. After go into your schematics folder in normal world edit (folder called worldedit) and get the schematic of the thing you want to paste and put it in the schematics folder in the Fast Async WorldEdit folder. After delete the normal world edit jar and folder. After that restart your server and it should be fine.1
If you are still having issues please contact me through discord.
FAWE worked ALMOST perfectly, and worked very quickly, though there are some missing things. I'd send you a message on Discord to ask about this, but I have tried searching for ramoplayz and granpacho#8254, but Discord does not recognize it.
