So, it's been about 2 years, Blender 2.80 and the incredible EEVEE engine got released. I recently stumbled upon MCprep (an awesome Blender addon, offering way more options than my lame script) and CyclesMineways.py (a script located in the actual Mineways folder), which make MinewaysToCycles.py redundant. Also, the integration of the pixelator node group turned out to be a complete waste of time, considering the "Texture Interpolation" option. Oh, well...
Due to all that, I decided to discontinue (advice against using) the script. I had fun developing it and won't take it down, but seriously though, do yourself a favor and start using MCprep. It works like a charm.
TL;DR:
This script doesn't work in Blender 2.8 and is no longer maintained.
For all of you animators who prefer the Cycles render mode in Blender (including myself), I wrote a short script for transporting exported Minecraft worlds from the default renderer into Cycles. In order to look like Minecraft, a pixelator is created which I took from here.
The script is only tested on worlds exported with Mineways, so there may be bugs when using different programs.
Oh my goodness, thank you. The script provided in Mineways' documentation is outdated and works for beans. This does the job. Hopefully the upcoming Eevee engine won't break it.
Please be more precise, what do you mean by "won't load that map"? Is the exported map not able to be loaded into Blender? (If so: Ensure you exported it as an .obj file ("Export for Rendering" in Mineways)).
Important note (Aug 11, 2019):

I highly recommend using the MCprep addon instead.

Do you have a paypal? I might donate in the future if I end up using it alot c:
Woah, although I put effort into this project, it didn't take a long time to program it. However, thanks for using the script! :3

i just it just wont load and pick it up
The script doesn't work in Blender 2.80, and I decided I won't fix it, because MCprep exists.
