Well - I had 'Latest release' 1.12.2' & 'Latest Snapshot 1.13-pre5' showing in the launchers dropdown box so I'd guessed it's was there (launched it today & the snapshot profile changed from 'pre2' - I usually use multiMC as my launcher)
I went ahead & created a new profile (snapshot2) with 'pre5' - as you suggested - & now Amidst show the title of 'snapshot2' but it's in red & has 'not found'. So I'm guessing that Amidst doesn't recognise the 'Latest snaphot' profile of launcher & you have to create a new one for Amidst to recognise it
Changing 'snapshot2' profile to 'pre1' all the way up to 'pre4' & it shows up OK until you click on the arrow - it then shows 'failed loading' & up pops an error screen (& yes - I did launch the profile in launcher to download all the necessary files first before I started up AMIDST)
although 2 posts above that I mentioned I saw a Xisumavoid video about M/C 1.13 & somehow he mentions (& shows) Amidst running with a 1.13pre profile - but so far no-one has come up with any suggestions as to what my error code is, or how Xisumavoid managed to get his to work
You CAN however load a 1.13 world into AMIDST using a 1.12 profile -& that seems to work, the downside is that AMIDST won't sure new biomes/shipwrecks etc
EDIT: Apparently I'm wrong. A google shows there is a AMIDST 1.13 snapshot on Github but it needs compling (or whatever it is to get a working version)
Any experts out there know how to make this a working version ??
"Is there a version getting made for 1.13" for me implies "will the program be updated for 1.13 at some point?". I'm not involved in the development, but I would assume the program will get updated for 1.13 at some point, when the developers have the time to do so. If I remember right, there was already a custom version made by someone for 1.13 a little while ago, so I assume it isn't a huge problem to update, even with the changed world generation.
Gnembon made a version a while back, it seems to support up to 18w20c by the description. I have no idea how well it works, I haven't tried it out myself. It's available on the SciCraft Discord server, on the textures-and-external-tools channel. But since the devs have also been working on it and adding support for up to the release 1.13 at least in the manifests, it might be worth looking into how to build it from the source instead to try the upstream version. Looks like you need Maven to build it?

Yeah it does look like you need this 'Maven' thing.
I've managed to download the thing & managed to get it to run (after putting the AMIDST source code into different folders before it actually did something )- but when I did it (maven) came up with errors... something about 'maybe using JRE & not JDK' which I believe is the Java Development Kit...
