When I look back at my code, I say one of two things. Either "How the hell did I make sense out of any of this?", or "How the hell does this even work, this is pure crap!".
I'll probably start working on a multiplayer/server edition after I release version 3.7.0.0, which will introduce support for Feed the Beast, the Technic Launcher and ATLauncher. It's been on my list for a while now, I just never really got to it...

MCBackup v3.7.0.0 Release Candidate 1 has been released! Please note that this is somewhat of a beta release; therefore, it has not gone through the extensive teesting that we usually make MCBackup go through before releasing, and may contain bugs and other issues.
Changes include:
Multi-launcher support
A new cancel button
Player health/hunger information in the sidebar
“Move to group” option in the backups list context menu
Options to reorder backup groups
Release candidate downloads are available in the “Latest and greatest” section of the downloads page. If, however, you want to download the older but more stable version of MCBackup, scroll down to the “Older but stable” section.

Hey, this is a great tool! I have been recently using it on my 1.8 single player world and it seems to work fine. I just wanted to verify that this works properly with the new 1.8 release. I did not see on your site that is officially supports it, and although i have not found a problem, I wanted to make sure nothing has changed with save files from 1.7 to now that would cause this not to work properly. Please get back to me when you can and thanks for your hard work getting this tool out to us all for free!
Thanks Save file should not have changed at all from 1.7 to 1.8. I have tested 1.7.4 backups on 1.8, and they seemed to be working fine! There should be no worries there. Sorry for taking so long to answer, I've been very busy over the past few weeks!

Merry Christmas to all of you, and happy holidays if you aren't Christian! As a present, I give you MCBackup v3.7.4.0! It's nothing very exciting, but hopefully it makes you a bit more happy
Lots of bug fixes and a few additions to MCBackup make it the perfect present for your friends and family (but seriously, tell your friends about MCBackup, it's always good to spread the word)!

Does this automatically back up worlds, or do you have to back them up manually every once in a while?
You can set MCBackup up to automatically create backups of a world every 1 to 60 minutes.
I should probably add more documentation to this program. I'll get to it some day

Quote from LuckyJim1002 Getting some CTD. Really random but nearly all to do with deleting old Saves. Annoyingly I cannot recreate them so cannot give a more definite bug report
I'm not sure where that's coming from (though I have an idea), I'll look into this.

I like to create groups and I have a 'Session Temp' one. If I select the group I'd like to see the group selected in the Backup form. No biggy, nice to have.
That's a good idea. I'll put that into the next version.

This one you can ignore but a NTH for me. 24 Hour times on the 'Date Created' column
I'm getting 12 hour AM/PM on my side, but I'll add an option later so you can switch between the two.
Sorry it took so long for me to reply, I've been gone for the past 6 weeks where Internet was extremely limited!

Thanks for the update but it seems to be broken on my setup
Running v3.7.7.0
FTB Direwolf20 1.7 pack
Backups report working but restore gives this error:
"This backup is not compatible with your current configuration! Is is designed for Minecraft installations only"
I created 2 new test worlds and all restores are reporting the same error.
Let me know if you need anymore info.
Cheers
Sorry it took so loing to answer! I always forget to come look here for feed back. Anyway, stupid error on my part. I'll try to fix it ASAP. For now, what you can do is edit the info.json file in the backup you want to restore, and where it says "Launcher": "FeedTheBeast", change it to "Launcher": 2 (no quotes on the number). That should temporarily fix it.
Using 3.7.5 I got the crash again when deleting about 10 old saves.
Fired up the debugger in VS2013 and it reported this:
System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException was unhandled
Message: An unhandled exception of type 'System.IO.DirectoryNotFoundException' occurred in MCBackup.exe
Additional information: Exception from HRESULT: 0x800A004C (CTL_E_PATHNOTFOUND)
Hope that helps
Yeah, I was aware of that happening and thought I had fixed it. I'll look into it.
Another NTH - be able to set the default world to backup.
Seriously do appreciate the work on this utility.
That's a good idea. I'll look into it. Thanks!
Again, sorry for taking so long to answer. Now that I think about it, I thought that I was subscribed to this topic and would get an email or something when a reply is posted. I guess I'm doing something wrong.

I do have a feature request. It would be great to have the ability to compress the backup. This way you really can save space.
My world requires right now 1.25GB. With the builtin zip functionality of Windows the backup requires ~829MB.
This saves about ~40% of space.
I was thinking of adding compression to MCBackup 3.8.0.0, but I'm not sure yet on how I'll do it. It might take a while to implement, but I'll give it a try!

Support for multiple profiles would be great.
Great program, glad to see it's still being updated.
