I'm making a map in the Nether and I want to have certain chunks set as "nether fortresses," where wither skeletons and other rarer mobs spawn more frequently: how might I go about doing this? I skimmed an NBT editor and an overview of NBT data for chunks but it never mentioned a specific biome for nether fortresses, just the nether. Does the terrainpopulated tag refer to a nether fortress, and if so, how may I make it a nether fortress (it seems to be a true/false value)? Or is there something else I must do?
There is no NBT/biome ID for Nether Fortress, similar to other randomly generated structures like villages.
The game just decides where the random block will be and literally start building away from there.

Sorry about reviving an old thread, but I need to figure out how to do this too. Nether fortress data is stored in the Fortresses folder in the data folder of a world, which you can read more about here:
