I recently created a launcher for minecraft which is supposed to make the administration of a server easier by allowing players to have a seperate instance of minecraft built for running on a specific server using an information file which the administrator can provide. In essence, the client downloads an information file, makes a new instance of minecraft, installs the required mods (and versions), gets the config files, and launches it... all automatically. It's somewhat of a simpler version of MCUpdater.
It currently supports Linux and Windows officially, but it will probably run on Mac too (not tested).
For more information see: http://stephenmac7.github.com/mml/
I also added a tool for servers to update their mods beased on a server info file but it will not download the configs (as it should be the server that's providing the configs) and will not extract the mod archives. https://github.com/stephenmac7/mml/blob/master/tools/mms.py

Again this looks cool, mind if I make a youtube video showcasing it?
I really don't mind. It's changed a lot since I posted this though, and I know it's not ready for widespread use yet. Therefore, I would appreciate it if you made one but it might have to be remade once MML is ready. At the moment though, it has just about as much use as the Technic Launcher and therefore, I'm not sure it would be the best idea to make a video just yet. If you choose not to I'll be happy to contact you one it's ready!

All a server owner has to do is create an information file using these instructions: http://stephenmac7.github.com/mml/

Thank you so much for taking a look at it. Do you have any suggestions about how I should go about fixing the UI?
EDIT:
This any better?
