Have you ever seen a cool skin and wanted it, but minershoes.com is acting up AGAIN? Or how about when Flash is down? What do you do then? ...MCSkinRetriever!!! This handy tool allows you to fetch any skin (or cape; more on that later) by username... NO ADOBE FLASH REQUIRED! All you do is download and open it, (it's an HTML file, so you know it's virus-free,) enter the username, and you're good to go! It now supports capes from ZaphodX's SMP Capes mod, too! (seriously, that mod is epic. You should try it.) This tool downloads the skins straight from Notch's servers, (and the capes are downloaded straight from Dropbox's,) so no waiting for the skin cache to update or anything. As soon as you change your skin, the changes are reflected here instantly. If you get a big "XML error" thingy, then there's either a typo in the username, or the user hasn't bought Minecraft yet. Just close it out and reopen MCSkinRetriever.

Why use this instead of other skin fetching tools? (This is actually not that biased:)

Bookmark this link to be able to use MCSkinRetriever without downloading it. The bookmark will always work, and will always use the most recent version. (If I come out with a new version while you're in the middle of using the previous one, simply reload the page to get the newest update!)

If this thread gets popular enough, I'll start working on an X360 edition. In the meantime, give me plenty of feedback on this! What sort of features would you like in the next version? Would you like a sleeker-looking page? How about a 3D model just like the skins on Planet Minecraft? The choice, dear reader, is up to you.
