Oh well, hopefully they get it fixed soon so it doesn't effect more people.

Every time I try to close the program now, I get an unhandled exception error. I'm pretty sure this started after I changed the folder to the one in the RAMdisk I was using, but I gave up on using it because I saw no difference. So I deleted the RAMdisk and now when I try to select the usual .minecraft folder, I get this when I try to close the window.
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

Thanks for including all those details. I know what is causing that and should be able to get a fix out for it easily.

Installing it today after falling off a platform in the end with all kinds of great stuff on me...
One thing: when I check the box to start MCS on startup, I get an error saying "Could not find a part of the path 'C:\blah blah blah\MCSave.exe'."
Not sure what causes that except that I do have two HDDs in my comp and maybe the startup folder is actually on the other drive?? I don't really think it is though.
I looked into that error and found that my Windows XP machine does the same thing. I figured out what is causing it and should have a fix in a couple of days. If your Operating System thinks the "StartUp" folder is in one location when it has been moved to another, then MCSave won't be able to use it to run on startup.
The 1.1 version requires that Operating System folders have not been moved out of place.
I have fixed this in the next release and should be getting that out in the next couple days. It no longer relies on that folder location at all.
Thanks for letting me know.

Hey everyone, I just uploaded the brand spanking new version of MCSave. It has some great new features and an unreal amount of error avoidance, checking, and rechecking done for special cases or out of the ordinary MC setups. Check the main page for detailed descriptions and the download link.

After some feedback about when MCSave closes and restarts Minecraft I decided to revert back to the way it worked in previous versions.
I'm glad for the huge amount of downloads and subsequent feedback for this release though! I guess the lack of posts here means that this new version is working well for everyone

I seem to be having a couple problems.
1) I have the Interval set to 1 minute and rather, it seems to be creating backups every 30 minutes.
2) Upon trying to load a backup, minecraft closes and the launcher reports an error of sorts and the game never relaunches.
Game ended with bad state (exit code -1)
Deleting C:\Users\Keishi\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\versions\1.6.2-mcpatcher\1.6.2-mcpatcher-natives-17529953305736

Could you post a picture if your settings window? Are you using the standard Minecraft Launcher, or a downloaded one?
I have a question though, is it the launcher that isn't restarting? Because of the way Mojang separated the launcher from the jar file, I don't kill the Launcher and restart it. I only kill Minecraft itself. So when MCSave kills Minecraft, it will leave the Launcher open so you can immediately click Play again. If the Launcher is not open though, it should restart the Launcher for you.
If that isn't the case though, some things you will want to check is that the location of your Minecraft.exe is correct in that window.
Also, make sure the are no random decimals or characters in the interval box.
The error that the launcher reports is the normal response when MCSave shuts it down. That error didn't use to show up like that because the launcher didn't use to be visible.
You also should get the newest version that I posted earlier today if you downloaded it earlier. The new version works better and I will be able to give you more accurate suggestions that way.

Sorry for being a noob, but how can I delete old snapshots? Do they delete after the maximum amount of snapshots has been reached or do I have to delete them manually? Thanks in advance.
Yup you are right, the maximum number is there to tell MCSave when to start deleting old Snapshots.
If you want to delete them manually for any reason they are located in the world save folder under 'MCSave'. For instance [Surdin/AppData/.minecraft/saves/YourWorld/MCSave]

Hey, I had a problem with my best horse dying, and I wanted to back up the file for a little bit before, but it says (no back-ups) . I didn't have the program installed when it left me...
Is there anyway I can back-up the data before it happened? It would mean a lot to me... Also I run on a windows 8 computer, so yea. Tnx
- BlueSnivy11
Darn man, I'm sorry. Unfortunately Minecraft overwrites the files that track that very quickly and MCSave can't look earlier than it currently sees.
There is a small chance though, that Windows could have a 'previous version' copy of the file you need. It isn't likely but if you go to the files in your region folder:
C:\Users\<YOURUSERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\saves\<YOURWORLD>
And right click the folder "regions" it should give you an option to "Restore Previous Versions"
It will then list various backups that Windows may have made of your region files.
Be warned though, if you choose to restore one of these old versions then everything in your world will be reset to that time. So you may want to save a backup of your world folder before doing that restore.

I'm waiting for their report for this file.
Their customer service is very good with customer support, they always re-check user submitted suspicious file.
Until then,..i'm suspicious..
Sorry OP.
But don't you worry, if indeed this file is clean they immediately add this to the database.
So in the future (as long the file didn't changed) you will not encounter a user like me who reporting/complaining.
Thanks for filing with them. I submitted a request about 8 months ago now but haven't heard anything from them. The weird part is that Kaspersky bounces back and forth between thinking it is a trojan or not thinking it is a trojan. Last I checked on my laptop both McAfee and Kaspersky were fine with it. Norton on my oldest laptop flags it as suspicious but doesn't outright delete it.
I haven't been able to get any feedback from Kaspersky as to what I could change to stop it flagging, or if it is just bug in Kaspersky's algorithm. Hopefully it is the former so that I can just remove whatever is setting it off.
So if you do hear back from them I would really appreciate you letting me know.

Off course don't you worry about it.
I already received their automated response, usually it took less than 1 day for their tech support (virus analyst) to contact customer.
I'm kind of worried about this... The program looks really good, but Norton says this is a virus and outright deletes it upon downloading. I'm not going to download until it says otherwise (check you code again), for security purposes. If this is a legit program, then you should be able to find a way to fix this. It could just be that Norton is freaking out since it copies files and can overwrite them at-will.
If you want absolute confirmation right now, feel free to call that number there and see if they can look up incident: 315090272.
And what you said about the "copies files and can overwrite them at-will" virtually every program you run on your computer copies and overwrites files at will, whether it be data files, logs, or whatnot. Furthermore I can send your the source code if you would like so you can see everything MCSave is doing.
Hopefully kyoshiharu will get a response soon and be able to post it.
