Hi, I also couldn't use the SetBiome filter because of the error: "AnvilChunk object has no attribute decompress".
So I tried older versions of MC Edit and I found one where I could use the filter, so I downloaded it and it's working for me.
A couple of times, when I selected a too large of an area it said error: "70, 47" or something like that, but when I selected a smaller area it was working fine.
and downloaded: MCEdit_dev-0.1.5build299.win-amd64
this worked for me
EDIT: Later on, with that version, I sometimes got the error: "Key biomes not found". So I downloaded a 0.1.5 version because SethBling said it was working fine for him. For me, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
Thus far, the tool has worked perfectly for my needs. Then again, I'm only working with 20x20 sections. My zoo wouldn't be nearly as complete without this great tool.
(I haven't managed to replicate any of the errors you guys are experiencing. Are you using the stable build of MCEdit?)
Same error here ('AnvilChunk' object has no attribute 'decompress'
MC Edit 0.1.6 build 341
Tested on an area that was completly MC Edit made and an area that was orginally there. This is also on a world created in 1.4.5 orginaly and then opened / edited / saved in 1.4.6
I just downloaded 0.1.6, and tried to edit a 3x3 area with this filter on a fresh new save that I let generate ingame before loading into mcedit. I got the same error others are reporting ('AnvilChunk' object has no attribute 'decompress'). Does this work on older versions of MCEdit? How do I download an older version? I could only find 0.1.6 on their website. Thanks for your help
Not for me, even when going to a 1 block selection it won't work. Maybe it has to do with the worlds themselves, I tried to use it on a custom superflat that generated nothing but air and then pasted the parts into it that I wanted.
interestingly enough, i am trying to do the same thing as you...
Ok, interestingly, I think that when you start with a selection too big it won't work, going smaller then produces the same error. I've tried it the other way around, going from small to big, and that worked fine. Once too big, I get the "Key Biomes not found" error now, and then going smaller again (no matter how small of a selection) will continue to produce that error. But yeah, it works... did this on the 0.1.5 install. After getting this error, doing a restart of mcedit makes it work again for me.
Your filters are amazing, by the way. I can't do without them in mapmaking... Really appreciated, Sethbling!
unfortunatly, this doesnt work for me. after restarting MCedit and selecting a one block area i still get the same error
it would be AWESOME if you could fix this

if you are getting the "AnvilChunk object has no Attribute decompress" bug. all you have to do is remove the line "chunk.decompress()" from the filters coding.
i still get the key biomes error when going to "big" but it doesnt occur when going back to small
EDIT: it seems that as long as you have less then or equal to 2 chunks worth of blocks, it works. anything over and it yells at you
I'm getting the 'Exception during filter operation. See console for details. 'AnvilChunk' object has no attribute 'decompress'' error as well on 0.1.6.

Sethbling, your latest update to the filter works. I just downloaded it, replaced the original setbiome.py with the new one, and opened MCedit back up and it's good to go. Thanks for making such awesome stuff!
I fixed the anvil chunk decompress issue. Open the filter in a text editor(Notepad++ / Notepad, etc) and remove the line #chunk.decompress() Save the file, open mcedit, change the biomes, etc, works 100% in 0.16
Just wondering if you could instruct me on how to install the setbiome filter thingy into the mcedit thingamajing. I'm using the mac version of mcedit & from the look of the instructional video and pictures of the windows versions Im kinda jealous. Its so ugly and hard to navigate (especially for someone like myself) and if it is possible for mcedit to help me change the biome of a certain area on my superflat world id love some feedback & if not any other suggestions towards changing biomes on mac minecraft. I was wondering if its like using normal minecraft and it has its own simple folder w/ a mods and a saves thing and I can just put the file or change it to a mac thing and then put it in a folder just blah pls help. Thanks sm <3

I have a windows 64 bit OS and I just went to the page: https://github.com/m...cedit/downloads
and downloaded: MCEdit_dev-0.1.5build299.win-amd64

look up ONE post...
Exeption during filter opperation. see console for details.
"AnvilChunk" object has no attribute "decompress".
does anyone know what i need to do to fix this error.
thanks
I think it has something to do with a line of code like this:
#chunk.decompress()
i believe that some thing is missing from the brackets. if anyone can give me what goes in the brackets i would really appritiate it
In order to fix this issue all you need to do is delete the line
#chunk.decompress()
In order to do this click on setbiome.py and open it with notepad.
For more details check out: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1707763-how-to-fix-error-anvilchunk-object-has-no-attribute-decompress-on-mcedit/
Next scroll down to the bottom of the note and erase the line.
Make Sure to SAVE after you are done.
That is all you have to do. Hope this helps.
Where is the filters folder?
I'm using the latest version of MCEdit as of the date of this posting (i.e.1.5.1.0)
Also, has this been updated to include 1.7's new biomes? (I noticed the last comments were posted long before 1.7 was released)
The filters folder is in your documents folder by default
