If you could make it so turning the start switch back off completely retracted the start positions (back down to two blocks below instead of just one), that would be fantastic.
Belicja, no problems, I understood you fine. I'm not sure why it doesn't work for you. They work fine on 1.2.5 and should work fine for vanilla or near-vanilla servers. Maybe you can upload a video on Youtube or something showing the problem.
ianistheking, I originally made them this way, but the circuit is pretty big and if you regen a new map after each game its not a problem. I can try to make a super compact version but the reasons it's not in the generator are that you can regen a new map each game or use Survival Games and revert the entire map after the game.
Lots of new stuff in this one guys, test it out and let me know if you have any problems.
Changes:
Added book to library chest. (will not show up until Minecraft 1.3 is released)
Added maze with wool blocks and levers hidden inside.
Added super chest which can be opened using levers from maze. The levers which need to be pulled can be determined from the wool blocks and the library book (not implemented until MC1.3 is released)
Added chest density parameter which determines how many chests per 100x100 area.
Added command-line support for automation.
Added a check for the "plugins" folder in the parent folder. If it is there, all the world files and config files will be automatically placed in their proper locations.
Modified occurrence of traps. Traps with chests are now less common.
Modified trap design. They should now be harder to escape.
Modified center schematics so ground shouldn't cover the player holes.
Modified various items and occurrences in the chest items file.
Modified file chooser dialog.
Modified "Pointy Islands" settings file to make it a little bit more playable.
The change here is to keep you from accidentally deleting your folders. Now, if there is a folder called "region" wherever you want the world to be saved, it will be deleted rather than the entire "world" folder.
For example: you want the world to be saved to "C:\my stuff\world" but accidentally tell the program "C:\my stuff".
Before v0.91: the folder "C:\my stuff" would be deleted when you really meant to have "C:\my stuff\world" deleted.
Now: the folder "C:\my stuff\region" will be deleted if it exists and the world will be saved in "C:\my stuff". You will then notice the level.dat and "region" folders in "C:\my stuff" and realize you made a mistake without losing everything in "C:\my stuff".
The change is just to delete the "players" folder as well in the world folder. This allows you to reset your server completely by stopping it, running the generator and then restarting the server.
I will be having an ongoing competition for Hunger Games Map Generator servers where I will judge any server using this generator. The winning servers will be posted here as well as on the wiki and on my test server page. This will hopefully redirect a good deal of traffic towards your server. See the news section here for all the details.

Version 0.93 is out!
Upgrade for these new features:
Added new settings file: Giant Mountains
Modified chunk height to be a changeable parameter (originally was hard-coded at 128 to save memory).
Modified settings files to include chunk height setting.
Modified spawnbox placement so that it is centered at x = 0 and z = 0 with the spawn y coordinate determined by the lapis ore block. The spawnbox will be placed so its highest block is at the world height. This way, you can make a custom spawn box schematic and replace the file "schematics\spawnbox.schematic".
bunkaz92: I'm not sure what else to try other than some more google searching. There should be some way to change the max heap size of the JVM on a mac, it's too bad it's not the same as on a pc
Thanks to everyone who has given feedback and support on this generator. You are what keeps me wanting to improve this program. So thanks! Also, I am in the process of writing a plugin (I know, another HG plugin) so if you want to come by and help test that out see here.
New features in this release:
- Generator plugin capability! (generators are packaged in a .jar in the folder "generators")
- New generator added with fully customizable generation settings.
- Support for my Hunger Games Map Generator Server Plugin (the plugin is not released on Bukkit Dev yet though)get the plugin here
Hello! First, thank you for creating this tool.
I'm having trouble when trying to launch this on Linux, here is what the console returns:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: javax.swing.JFrame.revalidate()V
at GeneratorPickerWindow.showWindow(GeneratorPickerWindow.java:59)
at GeneratorPickerWindow.main(GeneratorPickerWindow.java:121)

create a text edit and paste this:
#!/bin/bash
cd "$( dirname "$0" )"
java -XmxPPPPM -XmsPPPPM -jar HGMG.jar
instead of PPPP just place one of those:
1024 > 1 gb
1536 > 1.5 gb
2048 > 2 gb
2560 > 2.5 gb
3072 > 3 gb
3584 > 3.5 gb
4096 > 4 gb
save it as: start.command in the same folder that HGMG.jar is in, now it wont work, to fix it you need to open terminal and paste this:
chmod +x
then press space then drag and drop the file you just created in the terminal, like a folder.
now press enter, and close terminal, open the file, and there you go! hope this helps, if it does, click that green arrow there >
pd: Is the same thing that I do to give bukkit more RAM.
