Wow this looks great! only one problem... I only have a mac so when is the mac version coming up again?..
I'm sorry but the tool is very buggy on mac and I have not found a way to convert it into use-able mac app
(I will need to find someone with a mac who is willing to work with me)
his dad has died as he commented in his citycraft mod
Yep, 4 months and 4 days ago. I miss him every second.
I've been depressed since, its actually the reason I stopped working on my 5 mods...and this tool.
But lately I've been feeling better, so I decided to work on this tool again.
Anyways, I'm not here to tell my life story.
also see if you can make your program use loops and in the program have the option to make it float / spawn underwater and clear the terrain around it or check for clear ish terrain
I'm not the best with structure coding, so I don't have a idea of how to do loops to generate stuff.
The next update does contain a "clear area" option, which simply generates air that is included in the schematic. This feature has always been there, but I disabled it due to the amount of lines you get by generating the air. If there is any coder who knows coding loops to generate air, please contact me.
I filled my structure with sponges and changed it to 0 in the output file. I also found a bug. The output is missing these lines at the end.
return true;
}
}
It didn't add that to the file because it reached a error, I've been trying to do my best to avoid this.
It will mostly generate those lines about 70% of the time...
I will see if there is a way to fix this for the next update.
I know this comment is probably pissing you off by now, but, please add meta-data compatibility. Most structures need torches to light them up and it would be SUPER helpful.
P.S. Are you releasing this with 1.3? (1.3 is estimated to come out on Aug 1st)
Pissing me off? Nope, I love these comments, remind me I still have work to do.
Its hard working with the importer that Davve made, since I didn't code it, its hard to understand.
I've actually been stuck with the metadata part, either way it doesn't detect the right metadata info of the schematic or I'm missing something simple. I'll figure it out hopefully. ;P
(1.3 will be tricky since this the first time I'll have to update the tool to work with a newer version, but I see no problem so far.)
Hey I know you said it won't give clean code and what not but I keep getting a bunch of errors for some strange reasons o.O
-code-
Also happens on the other two, generate3 and generate6 any ideas on how I can fix it? Maybe it's just the structure?
=====================
Edit: I just tried it with a new schematic and it works fine, the schematic is quite large so I'll find a smaller one
Great tool, loving it by the way!
This current version doesn't have checks for added code lines, just remove all duplicates and it will be solved.
(I just add more methods when many blocks are added, it doesn't check if it already added a new method... so it sometimes makes 2 or more methods, depends on the size of the .schematic)
I read your adding option? If it's possible you could create options like how rare you want to set it etc So it's easier there aswell
Sure, I didn't think of that yet.
------------------------------
I'm adding many more options than the ones I mentioned sometime before.
Overtime I will add these options:
- randomizer (this option will allow you to choose 5 blocks that could replace 1 block)
(example: Let say your structure is made out of wood, you can make it so that it changes wood to one of 5 blocks to your choosing)
(So the structure would stay the same, but the blocks would change)
- flipping (flips the structure to any side /up down))
- Editor (This is not an option, the editor will allow you to modify the .schematic before converting it...)
(...incase you wanna make some last second changes)
- Custom Block Support (self explanatory)
- and some other options...
and for those wondering if I've made any progress with the metadata support...
I've made some, but its still bugging out and messing up.
The mod_Generate file isn't really necessary. If someone is making a mod that needs world generation they should know how/figure out to do it.
Its not necessary at all, but I include it for the people who want it. +for options as how rare...etc
I'll probably make a option to disable the creation of the file for people who simply want to generate the WorldGen file.
It not working for me!
I putting WorldGenStructure.java and mod_name.java in my minecraft.jar but it dont work!
Please help!!!!
This tool is not meant for players to make structures for their game it is for modders to save time so they dont have to code each block individually. If you would like information on how to mod with this see techguy's structure tutorial.

THIS IS SO AWSOME! I will get this but do you know any tutorials that explain how the structeres work in the java code because I really want to understand it.
Hello! Thanks for making this possible for us modders! I am just wondering if you are planning (of if you have already) made this compadible with 1.4.5 - 1.4.7 or any of them. Thanks for reading this!
is it possible to make a schematic with a block that your mod adds? if so how? and btw you sir just saved my life with this i was about to give up on my mod before i found this.
I am probably being a noob here, it has probably been mentioned already and this is a bit of a dead topic..... BUT..... does it work with your own custom blocks added in the mod?

I will answer some questions / other things now.

Yep, to be honest, I'm a coder but I've never worked too much with structures.
I will change this in the next update (coming hopefully soon, ;P)

I took a look at that, many say its buggy.
But if anyone feels like trying it. I wont stop them.
_______________
Anyways, I will blow the dust of the file and work on this tool again.
If anyone has questions or so, feel free to ask.

That's all the news I can bring for now.
If they don't know how to google they shouldn't be making mods. Also if a number of different structures are generated its a lot more annoying.
Its not necessary at all, but I include it for the people who want it. +for options as how rare...etc
I'll probably make a option to disable the creation of the file for people who simply want to generate the WorldGen file.
Thank you soooooo much!
Yup, I'm an Age Craft dev, check out the mod!
Any advice?
