Looks good! Havent really used it yet tho, because Im using MagicLauncher and Im used to have my mods through that and Im too lazy to install them manually. Hope you can make it so that it can work with ML aswell.
BTW are there any other launchers where I can add my own selected mods? I looked into Technic Launcher but I guess it doesnt allow you to add your own mods through there. Or maybe I just dont know or see how.
Thanks! Um.. The Technic launcher is just used for the Technic Pack/Tekkit/Yogbox... I don't think there's any other launchers that do what ML does..
I'm having trouble getting this to work for Windows 7. I think it's because my Java is in Program Files (x86) directory, but I'm no good at editing the code in the bat it generates to fix it. Whenever I go to use the launcher it just instantly exits the command prompt it opens.

I just built a version for Windows 7 but it's still buggy (Because the computer I program on is Vista) I'm still working on it though. Which version did you download by the way? 1.2.1? or 1.2.2? Make sure that you type in the complete name of the launcher. It is case sensitive. Like if its named Minecraft you type in Minecraft after you type in the Ram amount of course..

I tried both and got the same result. Good luck on the Windows 7 version, this seems like a real great tool.

I'll take a look at it and upload a new version in a few days (1.2.3) that will hopefully work better for you and Windows 7 alike. :D. Just wait. It's still in the beta version after all......
note:if your using a jar version on windows it fixes having no sound
thanks for the tool, love it all my friends thinks it is great, but unfortunately its not loading my jarfile version so i used
which sets it to 1GB and fixes sound so there's a fix for you people without AA working.
ps: as i said great tool and good work on it but this is a tempory fix for jarfile usrs on windows
Thanks. I read over your quote and make sure that it is "-Xmx1024" and "-Xms1024M" not "-Xmx1023" Im sure it was just a simple typo anyways... Also make sure to add a .Jar or .Exe (Depending on which launcher you are using) extension on too the end of Minecraft (It cuts down on crashes :D) Its currently still in the Beta stage and I'm working on a Windows 7 bug. Thanks for letting me know about the Jar file bug as well. I'll look at that too.
Here is code to get the jave location no matter the installation directory :).
For /f "tokens=2,* skip=2" %%A in ('REG QUERY "HKLM\Software\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment" /v CurrentVersion') do Set Ver=%%B
For /f "tokens=2,* skip=2" %%A in ('REG QUERY "HKLM\Software\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment\%Ver%" /v JavaHome') do Set "JAVA_Location=%%B\bin\javaw.exe"

Um.. I'm not entirely sure why you can't click on the spoiler buttons... Which internet browser are you using? Personally I recommend using Google Chrome..
Make sure the Minecraft launcher and the Batch file are on the Desktop
If that doesn't work try this.
Start, Run, (If you have windows XP) (If you have windows vista or 7, type in) CMD
A black box will pop up.
Then type
CD "%programfiles%\Java"
There will be at least one folder. It will start with jdk or jre then followed with a number. Tell me the name of that folder with the number included.
Yeah I did all the steps and for some reason it wont work. I type in 1, Minecraft, 1024, y,y. I am A huge noob when it comes to this stuff and I am definately doing something wrong. Any ideas?
Did it create the Minecraft launcher? Do you have the actual Minecraft launcher icon on your desktop? It looks like a grass block... Also make sure the launcher you created with my program and the Minecraft launcher are both on the desktop... Try that and come back and tell me what happens
Hey Jdos, you said on the op that it has incompatibilities with magic launcher, and I was wondering what you meant by that. It sounds like your mod is a launcher unto itself, and would that mess with my mods loaded through ML or would I be able to use your launcher to open minecraft and still have it work? I do have some lag issues, I'm on an older computer and even with optifine i still get only in the range of 20-30 fps, and on a good day 35 fps. Thanks

My launcher overrides Java's automatic memory allocation. For some reason magic launcher does not receive the allocated ram that my launcher gives to Minecraft... (I'm still working on this..) There is no actual conflicts. Yes, you can use my launcher with Magic Launcher, however you will not see any difference, FPS wise.
The creator of Magic Launcher already built an automatic memory system, (Like my client does) however it doesn't work. (He only increases the maximum limit, that's what I mean by "It doesn't work". He needs to increase the minimum limit as well.) Don't get me wrong though.. He's an absolute genius for inventing this insane Minecraft Launcher.. Mojang's current launcher could only dream to be anywhere near the basic version of Magic.
So long story short,
No, It does not mess with any mods. You can use my launcher with Magic and everything will load up fine. You will not receive the full benefits of AA because Magic overrides AA.. Also make sure you have Java updated. Play on a short render distance, etc... There's a program called game booster.. Its kinda nice... It seems to help out my computer a little bit. If you have any more questions just ask me

Thanks. Does this require Admin rights or no?
Works on my partners laptop & she doesn't have full rights, so no.

It doesn't matter that was an old bug which is now fixed. The launcher automatically knows which version of Java you are using... Its magic...
