Probably a silly question, but does anyone know why my version of forge says (custom) when I have not done anything to it? I have just reinstalled MultiMC, on my Mac, after not using it for a while and wanted to set up a new instance. Does the (custom) tag matter, if nothing has been changed? can I get it to go away?
Mojang changed some stuff in their version file format (to the better, but it means a little tweak is currently needed), to get the new snapshots working: Edit Instance, select "Minecraft", customize, edit, delete the line containing "minimumLauncherVersion" and save. Reload the instance or restart MultiMC and it should be working.

Thanks but I don't see any of theses options anywhere in my MultiMC, neither in the right click menu, pictures would help me figure this out.
A small thing, but could MultiMC have some sort of indicator that shows its still running when copying an Instance? Sometimes, when I copy, which can take up to ten minutes on big instances with a lot of world saves, - I have no idea if its copying, crashed or just hung. Some sort of indicator would be good.
Select the instance and then "Edit Instance" in the toolbar to the right, the see the image.
Sorry but theses options don't exist for me, I only have a line that says McEdit and the stuff is grayed out there, even when I select the line that says Minecraft 16w04a, I can click on customize but the only result is the version change to 16w04a (custom) and nothing else, there's no options anymore, I know we were able to do more edits with previous versions of Minecraft but I think this isn't possible with snapshots.

For the ones like me stuck with a version that wouldn't let you choose edit, choose english language in your MultiMC options, otherwise the edit option doesn't appear after clicking the customize button.

That's weird, what language did you use that didn't work?

Put your MultiMC5 in french and you won't see the edit option after clicking customize, tested it again and the option to edit doesn't exist when your interface is in french and I would guess in some other languages as well.

Seems like it translates Edit as MCEdit there for some reason, will be fixed.
I have a very weird problem since letting MultiMc update to the latest version today. A lot of my mobs are now invisible - they spawn, but cannot be seen only heard, and they work as normal - just entirely invisible. It seems to be certain Mo Creatures and Witchery mobs that are affected most, but also some vanilla and odd ones from other mods.
The log fills with this:
[JustAnotherSpawner]: Passive Spawning entity Creeper of type MONSTER at 29, 15, -138 (net.minecraft.world.biome.BiomeGenBeach.Beach)
You could add the Snapshot of the LiteLoader for Minecraft 1.8 into the launcher. It's only a snapshot, but better than nothing for people who want to play with the LiteLoader. Here's the download link: http://jenkins.liteloader.com/job/LiteLoaderInstaller 1.8/
Is it safe to use my accounts to MultiMC? I have quite 10+ more and I wish if I can keep MultiMC open so I can launch more accounts on the same computer. I can't find that setting to keep MultiMC to stay open while I launch an instance

MagicLauncher is the best launcher I ever used! Hoping the developer would update for 1.13.x and 1.14.x
Well, I can do this with another launcher using the same profile so I don't see why I can't launch the same instance (using a different account with the same instance) and I can open other same MultiMC launchers to start the same instance, I noticed no issues so far (probably with vanilla doesn't care if there's many MC running from the same instance)
Thanks for your answer Rob!
PS: Sorry my english sucks :X

It's mainly because of the way the MultiMC codebase is structured. Changing this has been on our todo list for a long time because it is not an easy change, especially doing it right. For now launching one MultiMC for each instance works, but you should make copies of the instances, launching the same instance more than once might not work in many cases.
Just curious to know why multiple accounts and multiple instances at the same time, what legit reason would you have to use more than 2 accounts at the same time.
I do that because I want to remember them into one launcher than 8 launchers (MagicLauncher), don't quote on me why I have many accounts, they're owned by me and I've bought them. Thanks for your replies guys

This is most likely an issue with your mods. The game shouldn't freeze though, so open an issue about that here.

For now, switch to the development version in the settings. It should be fixed in stable after the weekend.

Would be nice if you do so!
