I love MultiMC. I was reading on the blog that you haven't "completely abandoned the project", and I hope that you don't. Ignoring all the nay sayers, Magiclauncher does not do what MultiMC does and I completely appreciate all that you've done to help, currently I don't see a reason to push to 1.6 until you(or whoever) updates MultiMC as such. Great program!
At least someone cares about this mod *peterix* The mod developer sure as hell doesn't anymore.
Oh no! The developer of a FREE program that you use for FREE decided not to work on it anymore because he's tired of working on Minecraft stuff and wants to take on other projects! How dare he! That's just horrible.
Seriously. This is not my job. I make some money from ads and that's it. Nobody pays me to work on MultiMC. The only incentive I ever really had to work on it was that it was fun. I enjoyed working on MultiMC. Recently, I've simply gotten tired of it. It's no longer fun. That doesn't mean I no longer care about it. If I didn't care, then why would I even be responding to you right now. If I didn't care, I could just disappear from this community and leave everyone wondering what happened to me. To be honest, I do care less than I did before, but I certainly do still care.
Furthermore, you're not entitled to anything, so don't think you are. As I said before, you don't pay me, so why would I spend time on something I don't enjoy just for you when I have no incentive to do so. I'm really tired of this, a lot of people seem to have this same attitude, as if the fact that I made a free and open source tool and gave it to them for free means I'm obligated to help them with any and every problem that ever arises. I've said this time and time again: I do not work for you. You are not "customers". You did not purchase anything from me. Maybe if MultiMC were paid software, it might probably be different, but it's not, so it isn't.
Anyways, that's enough ranting for now. Have a nice day.

Thanks for that. I'm seriously really thankful for those of you here who are so willing to spend your own time to help people out with their problems without any payment or anything for doing so. It's nice to see people helping out.

It's mostly me, but there are another couple of people who help out around here from time to time.
Also, it's no problem. I just like helping people.
I also like to help when I can, I'm wouldn't consider myself a real pro with MultiMC, but I use it a lot for a lot of instances, I only run it on Windows and sometimes a lot of people have problems with OSX or Linux version so I can't really help them out, they choose to have a different system than the rest of the planet, they pay for their choice by not having many people to help them out, I tried and tried everything I could to install MultiMC on my Ubuntu test machine (I'm like a toddler on that Linux thing) so far not even managed to start Minecraft on this machine despite having Java 7 and such. But that's another story...
I have been trying to install Divine Adventures 1.3 from http://www.minecraft...the-beast-pack/ and i doubted MultiMC. I have had previous problems with spyware and ad ware in other downloads like iLivid and stuff but MultiMC is safe. Thank you very much makers of MultiMC and it should definitely be associated with minecraft.net
This divine adventure pack looks really neat. I think I'll give it a go. (like with every modpack, I'm installing computercraft for all of my redstone needs. :3)
when I load multi mc and I try to make a new instance it says failed to get curren stable version pleas check your internet connection. how do I fix this because my internet works just fine?
Without MultiMC it don't even bother trying to install mods for minecraft 1.6.2.... why do they had to make a new launcher just to break every tool around again?? -___-

Pls Update for MAC OS X 10.6 again! PLS! i love playing minecraft abroad on my mac but I need MultiMC.
Everyone is waiting for the update, not just OS X people. MultiMC 5 is in development, and is being designed to support versions after 1.5.2, provided Mojang doesn't make any major changes to the launcher again. I don't know how support will be for OS X, but it is in development, and I'm sure the devs will do what they can.

Learn some Java before you mod, and skip over the chapter on ModLoader, straight to MinecraftForge. It's better. Trust me.
I am struggling quite abit to get MultiMC up and running.
I'm getting this error a LOT "Exception in thread "Minecraft main thread" java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space" However whenever I grant MultiMC more space the error still occurs.. Even when I have it maxed out.
Sometimes this does not happen, but instead I get a white screen after the MOJANG logo. This is all on an instance of an imported FTB pack.
When I load a vanilla instance I get no such problem. Any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated.

You need to make the permgen size bigger, its not a memory problem but a java garbage collector that needs to be bigger when there's a lot of mods on a instance, I run 145 mods without problem with this line and only 2gb of ram allocated for this instance...
in jvm arguments in a instance settings add this : -XX:MaxPermSize=128m (the - is important there)

Now this has nothing to do with MultiMC, but since you guys are in the launcher "business" I guess I'll post my conundrum here.
I cannot allocate more than 455MB of RAM to Minecraft, now most people would say "Well you don't need more than than" but my graphics settings and texture pack eats that right up instantly.
When I go to that beautiful thing called Mojang's launcher, and type this into JVM Arguments:
-Xmx2048M -Xms2048M
Mind you that I have 8GB installed and task manager says Windows is only using 2GB.
So it reports this error message modded or vanilla:

Please help, it laggs, and any solution so far doesn't help.
I think the issue is you aren't giving minecraft enough "wiggle room." Try, instead of your ettings, this:
-Xmx2048M -Xms1028M
You could also just delete the "-Xms line and let minecraft use the default minimum allocation.
Also, I must commend you on this post. This has to be the best-written help post I have ever seen. You put exactly what you were doing, what was wrong, asking for help, then posting the crashlog, in a spoiler, with code tags. I love you right now.
Oh no! The developer of a FREE program that you use for FREE decided not to work on it anymore because he's tired of working on Minecraft stuff and wants to take on other projects! How dare he! That's just horrible.

It's mostly me, but there are another couple of people who help out around here from time to time.
Also, it's no problem. I just like helping people.

This divine adventure pack looks really neat. I think I'll give it a go. (like with every modpack, I'm installing computercraft for all of my redstone needs. :3)

just use magic launcher until they update multimc
This isn't really the place for that.
No. Read some of the thread at least please.
If I helped in any way, feel free to drop me an Internet:

Don't think about it, just click on the first one that comes to you!
Well yeah. Because 4.3 isn't for 1.5.2, wait for MMC5.
You need to make the permgen size bigger, its not a memory problem but a java garbage collector that needs to be bigger when there's a lot of mods on a instance, I run 145 mods without problem with this line and only 2gb of ram allocated for this instance...
in jvm arguments in a instance settings add this : -XX:MaxPermSize=128m (the - is important there)
this is the best tool to easylly install mods into minecraft.
I don't want to go left
Can we please just go ahead.
I cannot allocate more than 455MB of RAM to Minecraft, now most people would say "Well you don't need more than than" but my graphics settings and texture pack eats that right up instantly.
When I go to that beautiful thing called Mojang's launcher, and type this into JVM Arguments:
Mind you that I have 8GB installed and task manager says Windows is only using 2GB.
So it reports this error message modded or vanilla:
Please help, it laggs, and any solution so far doesn't help.
--My PC --SEUS 10.1 Fixes --SEUS Water Fix --SEUS 10.2 Preview --MultiMC 1.8 Shaders Fix (Not needed if using Forge)
I think the issue is you aren't giving minecraft enough "wiggle room." Try, instead of your ettings, this:
You could also just delete the "-Xms line and let minecraft use the default minimum allocation.
Also, I must commend you on this post. This has to be the best-written help post I have ever seen. You put exactly what you were doing, what was wrong, asking for help, then posting the crashlog, in a spoiler, with code tags. I love you right now.
