Quick question, is the 140 build any different from the stable release 5? I too would like to help with development, and will stay on dev channel, but if you added or fixed something in the stable release can you push stable releases to the development channel aswell?
Any changes we make on stable will be made to dev as well. We're only going to push hotfixes directly to stable, though. Everything else goes through dev first.
Quick question, I only read this last page so sorry if it's been asked a million times, but how do I install forge on this version of multimc? The last version had a little button (though that stopped working too later on), but this one has nothing and if I put the version in the mods area, it isn't recognised and if I try to use the installer it says the directory doesn't have a launch profile. I'm not a huge modder but I would like to have forge for rei's minimap and such.

check on the first tab once you open the edit mods button, there's a button to install forge there and it works #1 out of the box...
Make (and launch) a vanilla instance of minecraft. After that in MMC select your instance, click "Edit Mods", select the "version" tab on the window that opens.. here you will find the "Install Forge" button at the top.

Any ideas on how to try the newest Optifine (A9) in MultiMC. Its not forge compatible yet, and the jar you download looks for .minecraft (which i've removed because of MultiMC being in my Dropbox). Thanks!
Quick question, will there be a 64 bit version of this?
If it aint broke, don't fix it. It runs Minecraft fine at 64x, and I until Microsoft tells everyone that 64x is required, I don't think its needed to make a 64x version.
The reason I downloaded this launcher was to be able to install Jar Mods as the previous MultiMC v.4 did. Now support is missing? That really bums me out. Maybe it is just me but, I really do think this feature should make a comeback in MultiMC.

Jar mods haven't gone anywhere. It's only for 1.5 and below since 1.6 forge doesn't use jar mods anymore. Here's a picture of the current MultiMC using 1.5:
Sadly there are still modders using the in-the-jar system of modding (at least as of 1.6.x, don't know about 1.7.x).
Yup, but they won't be able to mess around in past that 1.6 serie, if I understood about what happens after 1.7, it is impossible to do anything to the jar...

I understand that but, what about 1.7 compatible mods that don't use a modloader?
Like what? I know Optifine makes a new 'version' called 1.7.2.Optifine.
OptiFine is an example, I installed it after Forge using MultiMC and whenever I pressed ESC the game crashed. I don't know if that is because the Forge is Beta or it's just not compatible. Another example is Too Many Items. I know they have a Forge version but, the 1.7.2 version is a Jar Mod. The download page only had a 1.6.4 Forge version.
