Just wanted to thank you for making MultiMC, I absolutely love it. I used to use Magic Launcher, but MultiMC's design is just so much cleaner and nicer to look at, as well as the whole system in general being much easier to use.
Thanks.

If you have any issues with the program or installing mods, feel free to post it here.
That means either too much memory allocation or too little. The allocation setting I use is 1024 min 2048 max. An increased memory space without it being too much to handle.

I have 6 GB of RAM and I set the memory settings to what you have yours as and I get the same error.
If you have already signed into an instance before and have auto-login on, then right click the instance, click play, and there's a button for play offline. You can not use multiMC without buying minecraft.
Ok so I am trying to run my multimc.... And it crashes and I have no idea why....
I am new to this stuff also.
Instance folder is:
C:\Documents and Settings\Chase\Desktop\Minecraft multi\instances\Chase-I server mods\minecraft\
Instance started with command:
"C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -Xms1024m -Xmx6144m -jar MultiMCLauncher.jar "<username>" "<session ID>" "MultiMC: Chase/I server mods" "854x480" "Mojang"
Error: Could not create the Java Virtual Machine.
Error: A fatal exception has occurred. Program will exit.
Invalid maximum heap size: -Xmx6144m
The specified size exceeds the maximum representable size.
Minecraft exited with code 1.
Minecraft has crashed!
I was trying to install a config pack, but these mods didn't want to be recognized (mostly immibis' mods): Tubestuff, AE Extracells, LiquidXP, Immibis Core, and Logistics Pipes.
EDIT: I searched around, and apparently if a mod was coded in Java 7, it won't work with Java 6, which Mac uses. So basically I'm screwed.

Will, this work with 1.6, since it requires a new vanilla laucher? I certainly hope so, but never assume until I see it.
No. If you read around a little for the last 50 or so pages, everyone's been talking about it. Until MultiMC gets updated, which could be any time or it could be a while, it won't work with anything past 1.5.2, including snapsots and anything 1.6+.

Learn some Java before you mod, and skip over the chapter on ModLoader, straight to MinecraftForge. It's better. Trust me.
Cross out everything I said, found out the problem. The AE add-on ExtraCells kept on crashing me. That one killed me. Everything else worked. Thanks for the help anyway!

The issue might be that you're trying to allocate a max of 6 GB. My settings are 1024 minimum, 2048 maximum. 6144 is just plain ridiculous.
Thanks.
Yup.
Pretty much exactly like the regular install, except you have to put the zip file into instmods instead of minecraft.jar.

One red flag is recipe remover. If that is ShadwDrgn's mod then it is not updated for 1.5.x. Try removing that and see if it helps.

Lets say that multiMC is in a folder called MMC. Your saves are, for any instance INST in the path:
MMC/instances/INST/minecraft/saves

EDIT: Seems that none of Immibis' mods want to work with MultiMC.
How do you know it's Immibis' mods? More crashes?
