Would it be possible to make it so that MCPatcher mods work? I'd like to be able to install Dynamic Lights like I did with MCPatcher. That way I won't need to request combined class files like I have to with the non-MCPatcher version.
I've stated before that I dislike MCPatcher and am probably not going to go out of my way to support it. However, I might have a look at it when I have time. No promises though.
Very minor issue: I was typing in the description area of build #4, and found that the unshifted "c" key is not accepted as a letter. Shift+c worked fine, and CapsLock+Shift+c produced the desired letter (CapsLock+c does nothing). Shift+2 also seems to be reserved as a shortcut of some kind, unselecting the instance.
Although it works fine for me, this seems to be a pretty common problem... It looks like a problem with wxWidgets though, so I don't think I can really do much to fix it, sorry
I get a communication error when trying to add any multiplayer server. I guess that isn't a big deal because I got this more for SP mods, but just happened to notice the problem.
I also thought I would force install the updates for dev versions just for the heck of it and get an error:
Unexpected parameter 'mods\MultiMC'
I'm not sure if it is related but I have some sort of problem with Windows Installer freezing at 0% on my computer which I am totally lost on how to solve. Every solution online hasn't worked and I can't install anything... maybe time to reformat but I don't want to do it =/

Why the move to wxWidgets, then?

Learn some Java before you mod, and skip over the chapter on ModLoader, straight to MinecraftForge. It's better. Trust me.
I tried to do the force update multimc but said "download Failed" then i tried to manually install it but my antivirus program is saying that there is is a possible virus with it an wont let me download
Forkk, you derped somewhere in the auto-update part: Force-update gets me to the newest version (apparently #7 atm), but then auto-update wants to "upgrade" to #4.
Edit: I see that the current adfly download is still #4 as well, so I guess auto-update only considers "official" releases and force-update also considers dev builds?

Probably because it's set to upgrade to the newest "stable" build, which is 4. #7 is a dev build. Fresh off the presses in fact.
BTW Forkk13, the auto download & install for Forge is awesome.
I am having a very interesting issue. I'm trying to install Red Power 2 and it will not show up no matter where I put the files. I have the latest forge version and RP2. Forge is in the Jar tab. I've placed RP2 in the jar, coremods, and mods tabs and still i get nothing when it loads.
I have the forge log below to see if anybody notices something out of place within.

RedPower2 is for 1.2.5. And it probably won't be released for 1.3.2 for a long time, if at all.

Learn some Java before you mod, and skip over the chapter on ModLoader, straight to MinecraftForge. It's better. Trust me.
Hi, I've occasionally tried out MultiMC, but keep returning to the old multicraft. Is there any chance I can get a couple of feature request which will make MultiMC that little bit more powerful?
Firstly - Add 'servers.dat' to the list of files included in a config pack..
I often create a patch set (effectively a config pack) and a matching server.
I send the patch set (including the mods.. I can't understand your problem with bundling everything needed, especially when they are free to download as it is.. another day maybe), *including* a servers.dat so the client already knows how to connect to the matching server.
Secondly - Add the ability to save multiple login details, and record the default used with each instance.
My Multicraft (hopefully one day multiMC) is stored on a central server. Each person brings their own laptop and is given a shortcut which launches a central multicraft. They can all see every instance, and run the ones they are told to. (Think classroom of 8-10 yr olds at computer club during lunch!)
I currently copy 'lastlogin' files around (as unpleasant as it sounds) so the kids get unique server logins without having to know the passwords.
This allows me to create a world, a server, and a set of clients with pre-canned logins. Then have the kids turn up, launch multicraft and get straight into gaming without ever needing to change their school laptops. (Yes, 8 yr old school kids have windows laptops..)..

Any chance?
Thanks
ZombieKid
If this is really how you are using MultiMC (or Multicraft, for that matter), you are the coolest teacher ever

Learn some Java before you mod, and skip over the chapter on ModLoader, straight to MinecraftForge. It's better. Trust me.
Small suggestion related to login dialog: add option checkbox auto use remembered login/password without dialog show at instance start )
If password stored by MultiMC most time no reason always show dialog with it.
RedPower2 is for 1.2.5. And it probably won't be released for 1.3.2 for a long time, if at all.
With that being said, can i use newer versions of mods with an older version of minecraft?
Also, i would assume that Eloaarm would be updating her mod to the newest version of minecraft since all the other modders she usually is paired with are doing the same (ie IC2 and buildcraft). Granted, this is being hopeful towards a speedy release of some kind to 1.3 even if there isn't any new concepts.
and thank you by the way. It was bugging me for a while and this explains why i've been having so many issues with installing other mods.
Typically a mod is only supported and will only function correctly on the version of Minecraft it was written for. Eloraam's RP2 is a very extensive mod, and I have a feeling it will get updated, but it may be when 1.4 is released, since that is coming so soon.

where do you get your info? I'd like to stay updated and informed.
Yeah I had a massive derp and forgot to enable SSL when I compiled libcurl for x86... This should hopefully be fixed in build 6.
I've stated before that I dislike MCPatcher and am probably not going to go out of my way to support it. However, I might have a look at it when I have time. No promises though.
Don't think I can do that, sorry.
Hehehehe
Although it works fine for me, this seems to be a pretty common problem... It looks like a problem with wxWidgets though, so I don't think I can really do much to fix it, sorry
Every solution online hasn't worked and I can't install anything... maybe time to reformat but I don't want to do it =/
Edit I am getting this too:
Instance started with command: "C:\Program Files\Java\jre7\bin\java.exe" -Xmx1024m -Xms512m -cp "C:\\Users\\me\\Desktop\\MC mods\\MultiMC 4.1" -jar MultiMCLauncher.jar "C:\\Users\\me\\Desktop\\MC mods\\MultiMC 4.1\\instances\\virgin 1.3.2\\.minecraft\\" "praxeologist" "922312365029055586" "MultiMC: virgin 1.3.2" "854x480"
Instance closed its output 0.
Instance closed its output 1.
Why the move to wxWidgets, then?
Edit: I see that the current adfly download is still #4 as well, so I guess auto-update only considers "official" releases and force-update also considers dev builds?
Probably because it's set to upgrade to the newest "stable" build, which is 4. #7 is a dev build. Fresh off the presses in fact.
BTW Forkk13, the auto download & install for Forge is awesome.
Does it download the "Recommended" build or the "Latest" build? Stupid work, keeping me from trying it myself
it gives you a list of forge versions and you select the one you want to download and install.
