Maybe it will start if you set the memory to 1024 MB.
It seems the 0.8.7 version does not work with 64-bit Java. It forced Minecraft to run in 32-bit and when I had only 64-bit installed the launcher can't find Java at all.

Same issue here. Win7 Pro, 64Bit Java 6 (edited, actually running java 6, my mistake)
... tried this, doesn't make any difference. running the jar from a command line seems to work, however.
Is your Windows account also an "Administrator" account (as opposed to "Limited")? The reason I ask is because you might be running the command line "As An Administrator" (making it work that way) but your account level may be preventing you from running it directly from within Windows. Just a thought.
Also, are you able to run other jar files directly from Windows?
And, if you right-click the jar file and go to "Open With" (you may have to hold down the Shift key when you right-click the file), and then go to "Choose Default Program ... ," what does it show as the currently highlighted/selected item to open it with?
I am using the previous version and it works great, but when I download the EXE for the new version Norton detects it as a threat and deletes it ):
yep... the ove before this works fine with no issues.....this one either Norton removes it or it will say cant find java would you like to install it. There will be a fix shortly prob
Please allow multiple (or configurable) locations for the Minecraft save data to be.
For example, if I wanted my world on a removable hard drive, I would change the location to D:\Minecraft\data\.minecraft\bin\minecraft.jar
and the launcher would recognize that all of the "AppData" folder is now in the local "data" folder. This would integrate neatly with your existing profiles.
Tryed that one even turn of norton 360 and still after login nothing happens.
Can you try it via Setup -> Test and then click "View Log" and post the contents here?
forget to say allso did that on the exe and allso nothing happens.
But i did run the test whene using .jar and this is what it gives

Can you try this one: http://magiclauncher.com/adload.php?f=MagicLauncher_0.8.7A.exe
Yea 1024 MB works. :biggrin.gif:
Are you gona fix the the memory error in next verion?
This looks like a 32-bit vs 64-bit conflict. I will try with another exe packer, it might work better.
Okay. But still a very very good tool.
Allso keep up the good work :biggrin.gif:
If any new verions pop-up whene i wakuup later i will test it and let ya know how its working.

Likewise, neither the 0.8.7 nor the 0.8.7a exe files are able to detect Java 7u4 64bit for me.

Thank you for your time.
