Assuming you have Java installed, you currently have the file association for the ".jar" file type wrongly associated with WinRAR instead.
You can remove this file association from within WinRAR but you really need to re-associate it with the Java Platform. The simplest way to do this is to right-click the file and go down to the "Open With" section (you may have to hold down the shift key on your keyboard while right-clicking if "Open With" isn't on the context menu). You should be able to figure out the rest from there.
If you're talking about during the actual download process, first go into WinRAR to remove the ".jar" file type association. Then, try the download again. You may also be able to right-click the download and choose "Save As" to at least get the file. But, first try going into WinRAR to remove the association so you can download it.
I noticed that this only allows Minecraft to run if it is in the stands appdata/.minecraft folder.
Have you considered adding support for Minecraft installs anywhere on the PC? I use a .bat file currently to launch my Minecraft from a different location, but sadly it means I need several installs for things.
Having support for non-default installs would be great (especially as you can specify the minecraft.jar location, but not the mods folder).
Wow, I'm glad the Remember Me works now. And it wasn't too much trouble to run from a .jar on Windows, but I'm glad it's EXE now too. Great work. <3
EDIT: Actually, it doesn't seem to do anything at all after clicking login. Probably should've checked before I posted. But the new native UI looks better, though. No errors or anything, it just closes without launching Minecraft.
I start up the new .87 .exe and while the window does pop up, after I hit login, I get nothing. The .exe window disappears. I don't use norton, but I do use AVG, but even then, no errors pop up.
For ppl where the .exe wont work after login try the .jar
The EXE works just fine for me (Win XP, Java 1.6, all mod configurations).
Can you post more info: OS, Java version, mod configuration, etc.
Also the log contents.

For me the exe is identified as a virus, its almost certainly a false positive (I assume you know what you're distributing) It might be something to look into though.

Linkto a totally legitimate site for a search class.
The main window is resizeable now, but the setup and options windows are not. Thank you so much for adding native titlebars! I hope the launcher will at some point mimic the regular launcher's command-line options.

Just your friendly, neighborhood /r/Minecraft mod.
The exe works fine for me as well, presumably it's your antivirus (I use Avast).
Cool to have Remember Me working, but in my opinion the most important feature is the configurations, meaning we no longer need MCPortable to run old MC versions.

Yeah, I tried that, the .jar works fine. I forgot to mention that. :tongue.gif:

The command line options will be added.
So it may be the antivirus is the problem.
Can you try this one: http://magiclauncher.com/adload.php?f=MagicLauncher_0.8.7A.exe
